gamo breech seals
dear Thirths....ive ordered for a spare rotary breech from Chambers....the problem is that they do not have the small and the big O ring that goes with it..do you think that these seals are available in India...should I go ahead with the order without these O rings...

Jeetesh, you never answered my previous question.pkjeetesh";p="60723 wrote:dear Thirths....ive ordered for a spare rotary breech from Chambers....the problem is that they do not have the small and the big O ring that goes with it..do you think that these seals are available in India...should I go ahead with the order without these O rings...
Well for big O ring buy this pat no. 9262K132 from http://www.mcmaster.com/
I will share the cost if you are buying them.
NOTE: During the disassemble process, this seal may cut and you got to replace it. But not the case for other seal.
The Gamo factory breech seal part number is: 33090.
I don't mind to share the cost too.
The specs are for the new model that are made after august 2007
Next time, please inform me if you are importing any parts from JM.
Regards,
Tirtha

Hey Thirths...can you repeat the previous question... I dont remember...Ive just finished ordering for the large O ring...they sell in packs of 100s...will give you as many as you may require free of cost once I receive it....same holds good for the smaller seal...tell me how to source this one...my gut feeling is that we can take a chance with the local ones in this case...and yes I may have been lucky with the JM deal...yet if Im ordering something from him...I'll surely let you know...I was amazed at how prompt he was and the quality of packing was also good...

I asked you about import cost of the spring.
Small seal--yes you can get it locally I do hope too. Moreover it is not an emergency as they are not wear out by accident but with time.

Re: gamo breech seals
Tch..the guys at McMaster just sent me a mail telling me that they would not be in a position to accept the order due to the ever increasing complexity of US export regulationS and that they will accept orders from old/regular customers ONLY..whatever that means ...but at INR350...I think they are not interested...nevertheless Ive contacted a Chandigarh based company called FITCO for the O rings....I sent them the McMaster specifications...waiting for their reply....as for the springs and piston seals try this link Arun...Ive already ordered spares for my RWS54...

Re: gamo breech seals
Boys I restore all types of air rifles as a hobby
most of the ones that i come accross are not in production any more For OI rings I take the part and do a round of the various tractor and vehicle spares shops . They generally have a bottle full of O rings and you can generally find one that fits. the smaller sizes are found in the maruti carb kits and even finer ones in the welding torch spares shops.
Another suggestion is do not buy them in bulk as our indian heat can and will denature the rubber.
In the olden days we used to buy imported things that were tropiclised i.e. designed to tolerate our heat .
Indian rubber is far more durable thatn the european stuff as it has to withstand much larger variations of temparature
So hit the nearest shop and dont buy a large stock just remember which shop you got the particular oring from
Cheers

Re: gamo breech seals
You are welcome Pkjeetesh
Yes the site is only in Portuguese,( they sell mostly to Portugal and Brasil) but I believe if they received some question about the products or an order in English ,they are able to answer that
although I can not assure you 100% about that, only way to be sure is to ask them
at least I can tell you that they are a reputed and serious company, anyone of have a Gamo air gun in this country use their services and buy their products, because they are the only national representative of the Spanish Gamo company ,here in Portugal
regards
Daniel
PS - rough translation ( thanks goggle) of their selling conditions
