Introduction
Hello all
I am an ex-Air force navigator.I've been interested in guns since I was 9 or 10 years old. After my retirement I collected a few guns and modified some of them to look like Army weapons(7.62 rifle,Sten machine carbine etc). Others were modified for target shooting. These are quite accurate and can consistently hit a .22 pellet at 15 ft.One air rifle has a home-made laser sight which is very effective on rats and bandicoots in almost complete darkness.Incidentally this sight is very simple to make and costs only Rs.35 or so.I've also made some crossbows;one using a car leaf spring(which turned out to be too powerful for comfort) and two others with 3/4 inch spring steel bows. Among the other items I have made are:- swords,battle-axes,spears,maces,knives,a khukri, knuckle dusters, push daggers, side handle batons, steel framed catapults and a cannon for firing Diwali crackers.(This last is used only at Diwali time because of the very loud roar it produces.I've also made fake "elephant tusks"from cow horns painted off-white and mounted appropriately on a backing board.
I'm interested in fishing and have a number of graphite rods(which I bought not made). However I found them a little light for big river ( Coorg)
fishing so made some heavier ones from bamboo.I make my own lures and flies for which I made a fly-tying vice from wood and a hobby knife handle.
For those of you who are wondering I have 14 air rifles.4 air pistols 1 bolt action 12 bore shotgun (about 80 years old) 11 graphite fishing rods and about 25 bamboo rods.
All this keeps me busy and out of any mischief.
Cheers

Hi Gun-Nut,
Meet another gun-nut... I think we'll have many a chatty afternoon.
We have some dedicated fish killers here as well
Welcome to IFG... I think you'll get along pretty good with most folks here on both fronts.
lets see some pics of your mods.

Re: Introduction
Thanks all for your responses to my intro.I'll try to post some pics of my den in which many of the things I have made/modified can be seen. The only problem is that all the pics are photo prints taken with an old fashioned film camera and I'm not at all sure how to post them.
