Nothing can be further from the truth Mack The Knife. I didn't have a silver spoon to begin with. I'm just encouraging healthy competition, truly in the spirit.

The answer to your question is - bet on it
but it will be for the pleasure of playing many such and even bigger fish for my own satisfaction and little else.
I wish you the best of luck, will look forward to the catches.
I think we should start an IFG Hall of Fame purely based on Honor system. I think GG's catch will be the first entry. Individuals should submit to the Hall of Fame and moderators can accept it in Hall of fame only if it exceeds the previous record for that species. Wonder if using professional services should be allowed.

Good try NR
Fishing with a plug/spoon/spinner is always rather more exiting than bait fishing - and the take from a 43 pounder must have been heart pounding !

shame on u Grumpy for letting the catch get away
no harm in fishing for a good spot.
would have save u a spot on the river to,
now u blewn it.
going to buy a spinner in morning. and try it out. what fun, what a catch if my son sees this pic of the fish he will not let me rest until i have taken him fishing. some boys are so blessed with such a big catch.

Congrats GG,
This reminds me of Walvan Dam Lonavala. It was my day had no rod or any particular Bait, used Wheat atta as a bait borrowed from a local guy. and got a mahasheer in 30 mins, when weighed it was 6.5 Kgs, took me 45 mins to pull him out of water.
Anyone interested in fishing and having fun can take a permission from Dam officials for a nominal fee and have fun, I bet u wont end up disaapointed.
Cheers Emery
