Sorry TC and CC,
It was late and I was excited.
I have made changes to the title and text of the post so they are more informative.
I really think the HK missed the boat though. The G36 is not a young design anymore and the FN SCAR has made great inroads with the "tactical" crowd.
After some serious reflection though, as much as I like the teutonic mechanical perfection and cosmetics of the G36; if I had to settle for just one "Evil Black Rifle", I'd much rather have a Tavor. I fell in love with that petite little Sabra the first time I got my hands on her. She may not be a beauty queen but she just oozes character and would most likely be more reliable in a tough spot than some gorgeous piece of European hardware.
Flame me all you like but handling the Tavor and the SCAR16 side by side made the SCAR seem like an unwieldy piece of crap. With the Tavor, it was easier to hit targets when standing and with the rifle unsupported. At 50 yards, my off-hand group sizes with the Tavor were half the size of my groups shot with the SCAR.
