Dear Tirpassion et al,
Subsequent to our conversation, sharing today's diary page.
1. Went in full & usual shooting attire - have been using headband last couple of times. Refrained the use of glasses though had them handy. Used the headband; it's adequate - nothing fanciful. Did not use any blinder; shut right eye for every shot.
2. Checked the trigger; found that it was slightly on the softer side. Tightened the slack or the first pull a bit. Used a half filled Camlin "fountain" pen with two Rs. 5 coins on the standard 500 gm weight to compensate for extra 50 gm hopefully. The two coins would weigh 25 gm or thereabouts. The trigger weight was thus taken care of.
3. The slim grip (after having removed the M-Seal) is probably the problem zone, though the hand is getting used to it. The palm rest (shelf below) was slightly tilted and lifted up from behind to give a better fit since its width is even < 30 mm. It felt somewhat OK. Will follow your advice and get the saw dust + fevicol to increase the material. Today being Monday, h/w shops in Dadar-Thane closed. Will ask about the "golden" fevicol tomorrow. As discussed last night it's a slimmed down version of size "M" whereas I would need size "XL" or "L".
4. Shot 6 cards with 10 each and then 20 shots on one single card seated with shooting arm supported by the left. Carried BD for SA bda on all 80 shots.
5. Started with both cylinders pumped up to 185-190 bar
Observations:
1. BD (80 shots) = 80% & DS (60 shots) = 75% -> Better than last two times (Sep 6th & 12th) also in terms of scores.
2. Scores summation (4-card & 6-card) not as per desired
3. 2/60 shots on #6 and 5/60 in #7
4. The shots seem to have shifted UP till 165 bar and fallen down to level till 150 bar
5. 2/4 and 3/6 cards showed grouping of 6 shots or more
Now my Questions:
1. BD & DS both seem good,in fact better than previous events and yet the placement and scores did not translate to that extent. Where would I seemingly go wrong ? In DS more #9s did not do much good for those #8 and #7. How do I go about increasing my #10s ?
2. Cause of concern is not just those 8% #7 but those two #6 bang on the line. One of those shots was a mis-fire due to blank shot being fired right behind me. But it's still a bad shot and the reactionary pull on the trigger must be controlled - HOW ?
3. Why did the shots go UP and DOWN wrt pressure ? Was it really the pressure changes or the stance ? What do I do in such circumstances ? Adjust with clicks or stance ?
4. Granted that due to some reason or the other I have not been doing justice to the practice, but going forward next 15 days, how do I proceed ? A session/ day or two ? Continue the current LF and BD without going into any "extra" ? Or do something extra ?
I take my test on Oct 1-2
Passing marks - 363/400. Crunch time ?
