No drill scope mount for rifle?

Do any of you know of any good no drill scope mounts? I have got a BSA Supersport 5 .22lr Rifle without any rail/provison for mounting a scope. I don't want to ruin it by drilling. Was surfing the web for the same, found couple of websites...

The mounting systems being refered to are for rifles / shotguns that do not have any sort of rails.

The various mounts available usually mount on the rear sight base and more often than not use a pistol scope for the extended eye relief. Think 'scout rifle'. For shotguns, the scope base isn't as far forward.

I had cobbled up something similar, keeping in mind standard riflescope eye-relief as pistol scopes have a very limited FOV, for my Mauser but refused to use or sell it with the rifle as it destroyed the lines and handling of what I consider to be a classsic rifle. I want my baby back!

Will post some pics later.

The base and rail. In steel as the earlier two attempts in aluminium alloy resulted in a warped rail.

The new base slid into the original base for the express sights.



With the rail fastened onto the new base. The length of the hex bolts was such that when fastened down they pushed the new base up, ever so slightly, against the angled sides of the old base, thereby locking the new base in position.

Severe lateral vibration was noticed on test firing the rifle, so it was a good thing I had gone with steel and not aluminium alloy. Nishith take note.

To stop the lateral vibration I cobbled up a a 'stopper' that would be fastened to the back of the rail and slid into the stripper guide slot.

It is extremely likely that you will need to raise the comb height. Here's a simple solution.

Glad it helped. If you can post some pics of your rifle, with and without the stock, perhaps I could offer some suggestions. Assuming there isn't already an available solution.
