Hello AGN,

Can you believe it, when I say, that the earthing /salt water bucket is also part of the imagery? :D Yes but it is true! You dont actually have to dip your feet into the bucket, you simplay have to imagine it, my friend.

Regards

Its a good idea for merging the two thread, however, you must ask Brihaji, since he is the author of MT for AP.

 Sir - Life is really a Maya !!!

Spoke with Brihji earlier about putting Rahi's news item under this thread rather than starting another - may be there was some communication gap and he started the other one. Will speak again tomorrow.

Diary of today:

- Feeling a bit better after being down with cold and fever. The congested chest is getting clear. The breathing process is better. No physical exercises today also. I should be OK from tomorrow.
- Went to the range to shoot AP for a change.
- Did the proper warm-up. Felt better.
- Shot about 30 shots just to have pleasure of shooting and thinking of nothing and just confiding in the meticulous execution of SOA. The MULE was fantastic and it was a real pleasure on the cards also :D
- 50 reps of figure 8's; 25 with each hand: very slow drawing of Sleeping 8 and vertical 8 both clockwise and anticlockwise with the right hand. Vertical 8 only followed by 5 secs hold with the left hand.
- Stretching at the end of the session

hvj1 / tirpassion,

> Frankly it doesn't surprise me one bit - It has to happen :D
> Its an established fact (quoted in the puranas & the affcianados of telepathic communication) that when two people or a small group are committed wholeheartedly to a certain task & follow it assiduously "a certain mental / spiritual / telepathic" connectivity occurs. I personally have several experiences in this regard as well as being a witness to this phenomenon happening.

Dear dev,
I think that there has been a misunderstanding in the merger. The topic on Mental training by Guruji was suggested to be merged with the one started by Brihaji 'Mental toughness for AP shooting'.

At least that is what I understood. I am sorry if I am wrong.

Hi Guys,
> Tirpassion's / hvj1's attempts at Shavasan is commendable... Here's what this innocuous Asan can do for you if practiced in all earnestness:

The Importance of SHAVASANA

* Shavasana is perhaps the most important part of yoga practice. Lying on the back, the arms and legs spread at about 45 degrees, keeping the eyes closed and taking slow, long deep breaths. The whole body is relaxed onto the floor with an awareness of the chest and abdomen rising and falling with each breath. All control of the breath, the mind, and the body is then released for the duration of the Asana, typically for about 20–30 minutes.

• During the asana beginning with the toes, muscle stress is consciously released slowly and steadily all the way to the uppermost part of the body which include the ankles, calves, knees, thighs, hip, abdomen, chest, arms, shoulders & neck. After a short time, the practitioner can take a seated position for a few minutes of Pranayam.

• Following Shavasana, the body may be in the anabolic state of metabolism during which organ and muscle repair & development occurs. Activities requiring the body to switch back to the highly active Catabolic state of metabolism are therefore reintroduced sensitively, as the two states do not coexist well.

• Shavasana is intended to rejuvenate body, mind and spirit. It allows the body a chance to regroup and reset itself. This means that even the deepest muscles would’ve had the opportunity to let go and shed their regular habits, if only for a few minutes.

ADDITIONALLY, THE PHYSIOLOGICAL BENEFITS OF SHAVASANA ARE:
1. Decrease in heart rate and the rate of respiration
2. Decrease in blood pressure
3. Decrease in muscle tension
4. Decrease in metabolic rate and the consumption of oxygen
5. Reduction in anxiety levels
6. Increase in energy levels and in general productivity
7. Improvement in concentration and in memory
8. Increase in focus
9. Decrease in fatigue, coupled with deeper and sounder sleep
10. Improved self-confidence
As an intelligent yoga practice it will furnish the nervous system with a host of new Neuro-Muscular information and give the nervous system a chance to integrate once again to deal with the usual stresses of daily life.

In conclusion it is evident that practicing Shavasana regularly 'Once a Week' will relax, refresh & rejuvenate you both physically and mentally - As shooters, competition or sport, could we ask for anything more?
Briha
