Thanks for the kind words!
Yeah the Argonne Assault is a wicked knife! Too bad we cant have it over here. If we could, I'd buy two...one in each hand!

Here are some more pics

The smoothening on the finish is visible. This isnt a safe queen!

Check out excellent craftsmanship of this handmade leather sheath!

The X-loop on the back of the sheath is an excellent idea! I personally dont use it because I dont like horizontal carry and in vertical carry it rides too high due to the size of the knife, but in a smaller knife it would make for a very versatile sheath.

I've been thinking of adding a piggyback knife. The knives I'm considering are the Swamp Rat Rodent Solution, BRKT Little Caper or other BRKTs. There are small busses that I could look out for but while they would make a great looking pair, I feel INFI only really shines in the large knives. Any other suggestions are welcome and encouraged! Please do tell what you think would compliment this. I'm leaning towards the BRKTs. Mack The Knife, you have a great collection of BRKTs! Your advice would be appreciated.

Another problem is how to piggyback it. One way is to lash the smaller knife sheath to this sheath using the X-loop (only if it will fit-theres about 5 inches of useable space on the face of the sheath). The option is to get another sheath made by local leather workers. I know there are some excellent leahter shops around.

m_power,

Would the smaller knife be for a specific task or general duty?

Thanks a lot for the additional pics.

Nothing specific. Just to accompany the Busse. The face of the sheath is about 8.25 inches long, but a bit is covered by the retention strap so theres about 6-6.5 inches of useable space to attach a piggy back sheath. Do you think a decent-sized BRKT will fit there? Or should I just get another sheath made to hold both? Ive been looking at Barkies today and I think Im pretty set on one now! By "decent sized" I meant a good sized handle, I dont really like those smaller handles which dont go all the way across my palm. Anything in mind? Thanks for the advice!

By the way, I really envy your collection of Barkies! They really are superb knives.

The limit is 9 inch blade length, not 9 inch overall length. The blade of none of my knives crosses 9 inches. The Steel Tiger karambit is 5 inch blade if I remember correctly.

There are a fair few Barkies that would work. The first to come to mind and one of my all time favourites is the Mini Fox River (sheath has vertical and cross-draw options). I will compile a list of appropriate knives after I have put the kids to bed but chew on this till then....you do not have to piggy-back a smaller knife. You can carry your Busse on your strong side and have a smaller knife, preferably with a horizontal or cross-draw sheath. Being right handed, I prefer horizontal sheaths to the right of my belt buckle and cross-draw sheaths to the left of the buckle.

I have hands-on experience of a few Barkies but they come and go because I like to study various models but cannot afford to own so many. Currently, I only have seven, one of which departs for it's new home on the 18th. No real regrets, other than not getting much outdoor time to really use them before selling them off. Short of living next door to a well stocked knife shop or collector, this is the only way I know off to learn more on the subject.

If you must have a sheathed Barkie under 6.5", your choices will be limited to the Essential EDC, City Knife (optional sheath required), Little Carver, Little Creek, Imp, Mikro Canadian and Mini Canadian.

If you want a slightly larger knife that can still be piggy-backed but at a slight angle (most of them are), then you could add the Bravo Necker, Bravo Necker 2, Huntsman, Lil' Canadian, Mini Fox River, Rising Wolf and Woodland Special to the list of possible knives.

If you must piggy-back, then your first priority is to list out what tasks the smaller knife is supposed to do, then choose the appropriate knife and finally have a new sheath made for the Busse with the appropriately spaced rivet holes. You will most probably need spacers between the sheaths.
