Vikram: I have my own chant. Unfortunately, posting it here will get me banned. In a confined space an Assegai can prevail over a Claymore. I am unable to see the second video but if I was Shaka I would have thrown the Assegai at Wallace, after an unsuccessful sweep from him, and hightailed it from there or picked up something else on the battlefield to continue the attack.
Suraj: Kyley's made a few choppers. Have a look at his designs.
Moin: Vikram's peaceable face is still rather 'formidable'. You have been warned! Ofcourse, when he enters bearing a bottle of Tanqueray, he's my favourite face in the crowd. Now if only he will remember not to freeze the goats cheese this time.....Silly sod!
Abhijeet: I sure look like one, so he's excused. Better than being known as Dairy Queen Dev.

Now THERE'S an idea!winnie_the_pooh wrote:Mack, how about a Naga spear.Naga can help you out to get one.
I have been asking Nags and the other NE bows to source me a traditional bow for some years now but without much success. However, I do have a new contact who may be able to help.
Excellent idea! Thanks.

Thanks Mack for the pics, the Jungalas owner has acquired some great blades recently and was all praise for the Candiru. He's an excellent photogrpaher, so waiting for him to send/post pics of the BK16, Candiru, Laserstrike, Jungalas .Mack The Knife wrote:Moin, the Izula-II was added with you and Slingshot in mind.
If the current owner of the Junglas brings it to Bangalore in November/December, I will take the pics you want.

C'est très bien ! Merci Beaucoup... Great link and pics...Mack The Knife wrote:Moin: Pour vous.... http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showt ... iver-Golok
Somehow I like the Jungalas more, it looks more like the larger sibling to the BK9 and looks more stabbier ( for lack of a better word) with the clip. It's a super sized knife. It's suits the name Jungalas, the heavily armed Special Unit trained by SAS and US Special Forces, hunting and destroying Cocaine Manufacturing plants in the jungles of Columbia. (had seen this in National Geographic Sectret Diaries). Immediately brings that image in mind of the tough as nails operatives in the thick rain forests of South America.
The Golok's looks more like a Bentley Uber Cool high end Zombie Whacker/ Machete (probabaly that's what's it's meant to be in the first place). And I love the superb looking traditional leather sheath on the Golok..
Thanks for the link Mac.

Re: The Bark River Golok.
Moin: I was hoping to use the Golok at the same place I used the Junglas so as to keep the vegetation being cut the same but that may not happen this coming weekend as planned. I like them both but I am pretty sure the Golok will out perform the Junglas at brush clearing, more so if I can get my big strop built (no leather at the moment) and spiff up that factory edge. As for chopping, even though it is 5.4 oz lighter than the Junglas, it may just hold it's own as the convex grind wont bind in wood the way a flat ground blade does.

Re: The Bark River Golok.
Been practising draw cuts (on thin air, if you please. ) and I would revise my original impression of the handle. I feel the handling would have benefited a lot if the handle had a palm swell as well as a flared rear end.slingshot wrote:How is the handle ergonomics? Since this will generally need a pinch hold between thumb and forefinger, to generate the swing in the cut and to mitigate fatigue. I had a look at the choil and it seems a little less than i anticipated for a safe pinch hold. The Junglas handle choil is reasonably deeper. Also, the handle seems really smooth...though I may be mistaken.
I also do not find myself holding the Golok in a pinch grip for a draw cut.
The smoothness of the handle may actually prove to be beneficial when the actual chopping starts as it is less likely to cause friction.

Quite the clumsy clod, isn't he?
Us Golok users are far too refined and careful for that. However, that fellow with the Candiru and Junglas tends to cut himself rather liberally. He hasn't posted in a while and I am wondering if he has cut off a digit or two with the Junglas.
