Somehow I like the Jungalas more, it looks more like the larger sibling to the BK9 and looks more stabbier ( for lack of a better word) with the clip. It's a super sized knife. It's suits the name Jungalas, the heavily armed Special Unit trained by SAS and US Special Forces, hunting and destroying Cocaine Manufacturing plants in the jungles of Columbia. (had seen this in National Geographic Sectret Diaries). Immediately brings that image in mind of the tough as nails operatives in the thick rain forests of South America.

The Golok's looks more like a Bentley Uber Cool high end Zombie Whacker/ Machete (probabaly that's what's it's meant to be in the first place). And I love the superb looking traditional leather sheath on the Golok..

Moin: I was hoping to use the Golok at the same place I used the Junglas so as to keep the vegetation being cut the same but that may not happen this coming weekend as planned. I like them both but I am pretty sure the Golok will out perform the Junglas at brush clearing, more so if I can get my big strop built (no leather at the moment) and spiff up that factory edge. As for chopping, even though it is 5.4 oz lighter than the Junglas, it may just hold it's own as the convex grind wont bind in wood the way a flat ground blade does.

How is the handle ergonomics? Since this will generally need a pinch hold between thumb and forefinger, to generate the swing in the cut and to mitigate fatigue. I had a look at the choil and it seems a little less than i anticipated for a safe pinch hold. The Junglas handle choil is reasonably deeper. Also, the handle seems really smooth...though I may be mistaken.

Been practising draw cuts (on thin air, if you please. ) and I would revise my original impression of the handle. I feel the handling would have benefited a lot if the handle had a palm swell as well as a flared rear end.

I also do not find myself holding the Golok in a pinch grip for a draw cut.

The smoothness of the handle may actually prove to be beneficial when the actual chopping starts as it is less likely to cause friction.

Us Golok users are far too refined and careful for that. However, that fellow with the Candiru and Junglas tends to cut himself rather liberally. He hasn't posted in a while and I am wondering if he has cut off a digit or two with the Junglas.
