After a bit more than an year down this road, I have one suggestion. Whenever writing to your representatives - make it short, one or AT MAX two A4 size pages is the absolute limit! You are not addressing a court of law, so legalese can & should be dispensed as far as possible. Remember this is a subject close to your heart and not their's! If you wish you can add a link to the NAGRI website at the end (
www.gunowners.in ) - so they know where they can get more material from, if they choose to find out more.
Talk about citizens needs/ wants, give a short rational argument and close with an appeal to safeguarding citizen's interests.
That said, great initiative - if everyone begins to write to their representatives it should begin to be discussed in the corridors of power and be taken up as a serious issue.
An alternative to e-mail can be the humble postcard sold by Indian Post for INR 0.50 per piece. It's small with limited space, will also enforce the need to get your message across in as few words as possible.
HTH
Cheers!
