Persistance does pay but not too often, my case has never worked with the ladiesonly32owner wrote:Heartiest congratulations Moin.
You confirmed it once again persistance pays.
A parcel was delivered to my address today from Kolkata, I hope it is from KKHI. Sadly there is no one at home to check and confirm. As I am in Delhi with my family members.I feel really sad that I can not open that packege and hold those master pieces right away but will have to wait for another 2 weeks.
Regards.

Chief the Chrur''s a real gem of a blade, you will instantly fall in love it it. Very well balanced and a thick thick spine. Will serve you well. Comparing it with the Becker is like comparing a state of the art Hummer to our Humble Mahindra Jeepslingshot wrote:I am sure that the Churi shall immediately find space in my bug out bag.
It will nudge out the BK2 for the time being. The BK2 is the best camp knife I have used. Once I handled the BK2 I had always thought that it was going to be my companion for ever. Though it is a lot heavier to carry, the BK2 gives me the versatility that I have always hungered for in a blade in the woods.
I think I shall still carry the BK2 or the recently fondled BK7 for serious camping. But for the short trips, maybe the Churi is just right. Cheap, cheerful, versatile, easy to sharpen, convex grind, full tang, great blade ergonomics, a comfortable wooden handle. All I need to do is create a new sheath with Moin The Master Bladesmith
And the American Eagle will hopefully retire my old khukri. The old lady has served me for years and I think she deserves some TLC, rest and affection now. Its the time for the Eagle to bite deep into dead wood and stay securely nested in my gear.
The WW2 khukri will stay at home. Somewhere safe but close to me. My Zombie Insurance
Hi Abhijeet, you can choose any finish options. The blades are buffed to a mirror finish. There's no Nickel or Chrome plating.mundaire wrote:Nice! Can one also choose not to have the blades chrome/ Nickel plated? Or is that a standard/ no option finish on all their blades?
Cheers!

Thanks Bruno Was a strange mix of pain and pleasure handlingthe khuks last night. Maybe just maybe me and slingshot had set our expectations high considering the fact that KKHI apparently supplies Khuks the the Gorkha Regiment of the British Army and looking at the fancy photography on the website.

No! No, you should not agree with this (although not much may be done now about it) that this difference in blade geometry comes from the fact that these were handcrafted. I know handcrafted products, there might be a difference in the finish / colour or some marks or spots here and there or other minor quirks and there but apart from this there should have been no difference. I have seen lines of handcrafted products all exactly identical. After all there are craftsmen working on these in a organised export based production unit and this is not a result of amateur craftsmanship.slingshot wrote: I agree that these are hand forged blades and will have their quirks. However, to actually get a khuk with a different blade geometry, as Moin has pointed out, is a bit deflating. I can understand that the fit and finish might vary.
