What he means is that people with Mongoloid features are normally taken to be either tourists from SE & E Asia (China, Japan, etc.), or Gurkhas in "security" jobs (hence bank guard). Most Indians just ignore the racial melange to be found in our country! (no racism intended in the word "Mongoloid", which along with Caucasoid and Negroid, forms one of the three Great Races of mankind, sorry, humankind).
Jonah, while in engineering college (Jaipur), I had a friend from Manipur. Whenever we would go to have a drink, I used to be mistaken for a tourist guide, showing the "Japani" the sights!! We then took to speaking always in Hindi with choicest expletives, so that people were clear about his nationality! Sad.

I was once asked by some idiot in New Delhi if I knitted my sweater myself and howmuch it would cost to make one for him..
