Brrr!

Post by xl_target » Mon Dec 13, 2010 7:05 am

The joys of living in the Midwestern USA.

Yesterdays weather forecast:
NEAR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE TONIGHT ACROSS PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN AND EASTERN MINNESOTA...AND WESTERN WISCONSIN. TRAVEL
WILL BE VERY DIFFICULT AND IS NOT ADVISED.

GENERALLY LIGHT SNOW REMAINS IN WEST CENTRAL WISCONSIN AND SOUTHERN MINNESOTA. WHAT LITTLE SNOW REMAINS WILL CONTINUE TO
DIMINISH BEFORE MIDNIGHT. HOWEVER...THERE IS STILL CONSIDERABLE BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW DUE TO VERY STRONG WINDS. SUSTAINED WIND
SPEEDS OF 25 TO 35 MPH...WITH GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH ARE OCCURRING ALONG WITH NEAR WHITEOUT CONDITIONS ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL AND
SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA. THE COMBINATION OF THE WINDS AND PLUMMETING TEMPERATURES WILL ALSO RESULT IN DANGEROUS WIND CHILLS OF 20 BELOW
TO 35 BELOW TONIGHT.

This morning we woke to large amounts of the white stuff. Took me about four hours to dig out.

Lol Yeah Naga, as you can see from the heavy outerwear, it takes like half an hour to get dressed to go outside, especially since this monkey wants to keep his "ahem" from freezing off ;)

I just had to add this photo for Naga's sake: :D

Not much snow here right now, but it is 7F here at this very moment, that is about -14C.

It sure is COLD this time. I was in Iowa (hunting) first weekend of December it was 10 to 15F and windchill of about -20F :( We (Holland, MI) barely missed the storm, it passed right over a bit north of us.

Can't. The snow is too cold, it won't stick together. No snowball fights, either. Only some of the earliest snow, maybe; and again in April.

(I'm sure ngrewal will have no problems with this, what with being an old Minnesota hand an' all)

Yer dern tootin, its cold! Cold nuff to freeze your heine off.
Dat dere car, she like to have a dead bat-tree and pretneer dint wanna start but we're yousta dat. (it is proper grammar to start sentences with "but" or "and" in Minnesotan)
But, fer sure, it aint nothin' like how cold it gets up in Dulut or on Da Range.

(here ngrewal would agree with me and say:"Oh ya! You Betcha!")

.

For the rest of youse guys, you'll need the English to Minnesotan translator:
http://www.brownielocks.com/minnesotatalk.html

or buy the book: How to talk Minnesotan

Another thing is that you have to say this stuff real fast (before your tongue freezes to the roof of your mouth)
