the recoil on a insas either lmg or rifle is a joke. but then we had a chap complain about the cocking effort too.
if used in a bolt action mode the accuracy is great by military standards.

good one. no not quite . it is done by a small lever on the front end and does not need any tools.if u have ever held an insas u would know. the function is meant for something else entirely but can be used to convert it into a bolt type action. i.e u cock the weapon manually every time. this gives a nice improvement in accuracy but as u can guess the fire rate is lowered.
how much time did u spend grafting that bolt on to the insas ? great trick btw. what are u using photoshop ?

...ah you mean the Alidade...for launching grenades...Using the alidade for anything other than the purpose its meant for... i.e blocking the gas port for firing grenades defeats the whole purpose of an automatic rifle...

Anyway good you clarified... sometimes I tend to go one-track-mind.

Well with google image search and a good stock of personal images means it doesn't take too long...well not long enough to be accused of having too much time in my hands...

buddy read the post. all i said was that u could squeeze accuracy out of the dang thing with this easy mod. i have perforated targets at five hundred meters using this gimmick and even without it. this is good for short range sniping esp when u need precision over volume. and yes it makes quite a difference in the accuracy.

Since the mass of steel (bolt/carrier and piston assembly) isn't moving/reciprocating in this case, it'll translate to an improvement in accuracy as you say.

Yup,I can agree, having that huge lump of ironmongery whump forward can be very distracting.On any rifle.
But the silky smooth action on an old time Bren cant be beat.Add on the bipod and that match 13-or was it 11? I think, where you start at 500 yds, and move progressively to 100? wot fun...
