First Darne model V Hors-Serie .410 Magnum

Post by Sebastien GIRARD » Thu May 13, 2010 11:46 am

Hello everybody!!!
I'm French and I live in Saumur in the Loire valley.
I'm kind of Darne shotguns and rifles...
Mister BRUCHET, the manager of Darne, is building for me in this moment the first shotgun model V Hors-Serie in 410 magnum gauge that the company has ever built...This shotgun is very light and thin!!! You can see photos of this shotgun at the adress: http://sebastiengirard.creezvotrealbum. ... 1&photo=25 What do you think of this shotgun?

This gun is currently being engraved in USA by the master engraver Geoffroy Gournet (gold inlays (yellow, red, green and white gold) ; you can see the work of this master engraver at this adress: http://www.gournetusa.com.
I hope you will enjoy seeing the photos of the VHS 410 Magnum.

Best regards
Sébastien GIRARD

Welcome to the forum, Sebastien! There are probably a few of us here who like the Darne. I have always liked it for hunting waterfowl from canoe or kayak; and owned a 12 ga. and a 20 ga. over the years, but always let myself be talked out of them by friends. Unfortunately, my current one needs a new set of barrels, but the prices I have been quoted, in excess of US $2,200, do not seem reasonable. Even more intriguing than the sliding breech Darne is the rotating breech model. Darne certainly was a gifted designer, if unorthodox. Cheers.
