PCP buyers - Legal Caution

Post by tirths » Fri Apr 02, 2010 2:53 pm

Just came to understand, if you are buying PCP gun that manufactured in India, ensure they have got necessary clearance from Min of Industry, Dept. of Industrial Development, G.S.R. No. 77(E) Dt. 24 Feb 1987 as this is falling under Indian Explosive Act, 1884

Hello Tirths

Perhaps this notification "Min of Industry, Dept. of Industrial Development, G.S.R. No. 77(E) Dt. 24 Feb 1987" refers to gas cylinders i.e. cylinders containing inflammable materials that are interpreted under explosives. That's what the notification says. But, I suppose the PCP cylinders or tubes does not fall under this category as it is only highly compressed air for PCPs.

@ Melvin
Tirths has been banned and hence would not be able to log in. PMs would remain in the in-box until the recipient logs in.

True, but he is still correct about possible legal implications of dealing with fly by night operators who are possibly manufacturing & selling without requisite permits/ licences...

So do I as buyer need to worry about this at the end of the day isn't this the responsibility of the manufacturer.
Am I in any legal jeopardy is the manufacturer is not compliant with the rules and regulations?

Well, it is like this. You purchased a gas cylinder and it got exploded and you will be popped off (not meaning you) hope you will be there to blame the manufacturer.
certification gives some amount of assurity while playing with fire.
