AIMCO M300 ...... a beautiful rifle
Friends...visited AIMCO today while i was in Kolkata...met Joy Biswas for the first time, very nice gentleman...he showed me his latest product...the AIMCO M300....beautiful rifle, pity i couldnt' get to shoot it.....the stock is awesome and the build quality of the underlever gun overall is very good.....the trigger is direct and is made of brass and has a match type look....has a tap loader on the top for inserting pellets....we are now getting to some good air rifles here are a few pictures...
thats Joy working away on his computer..
shopped a little...bought a few piston seals, breech washers, an IHP iron sight and two beautiful rifle butt covers...

Wow!
> Awesome looking - was it a .22cal?
> Any tech specs - fps / flbs etc?

@Brihacharan,
This is what I could figure out from the aimco website, for your Qs.
> Yes it is 0.22 cal. (I think it is only the IHP which is making 0.177 in India -- may be the Gsmith&Co also)
> Sorry, no info on fps etc.
> Cost -- Rs 4050/= per the website
I do agree that it would look awesome with a scope....how I wish I would own one such piece!! Maybe soon.
Ram.

Hey Jeetesh --
Glad you made most of your time at Cal ... a few munchies from Nahoums would I'm sure be appreciated by your daughter !
The M300 sure looks good , nice stock and overall a ' heavy ' look.
2 points though -
i) What is the round thingy near the beginning of the stock ? Functional or purely decorative ?
ii) What didn't you get to try out the gun - I'd have assumed that Aimco would've had a small space allocated just for that purpose.
I sincerely hope that you aren't planning on adding to your collection ..... otherwise I'm afraid it's going to be the Dog House for you !

The 'round thingy' must the the Tap Loader indicator (position). From its location near the pellet feed poin, this makes sence i guess. I fully agree with you on the 'adding to PK's collection'

Luke/BD...the round white dial is the tap loader position indicator....rifle is heavy, but balanced....i depressed the trigger and pulled the lever....cocking effort is a little heavy....Yes, i would have bought the rifle if i had a chance to test it....i still feel i should buy it...only for the stock....it is the best stock i have ever seen on any Indian air rifle....

As an example of overcoming adversity, Karoly Takacs has few peers. He was part of Hungary’s world champion pistol-shooting team in 1938, when an army grenade exploded, crippling his right hand. Ten years later, having taught himself to shoot with his left, he won two gold medals in the rapid-fire class.

Re: AIMCO M300 ...... a beautiful rifle
Really a good looking Rifle, I am still not convinced that an under lever life is of any good from break barrel (for first two year) under careful use. I have three break barrel rifles n the oldest is from GMW still shoot fine. But I am thinking of adding an under lever air rifle to my collection.
Coincidently, I have ordered an IHP 0.177 rifle from AIMCO just yesterday. I would love to get this M300 but my present location give me very rare change to go plinking outside. Even I have to practice IHP 0.177 rifle indoor (of course, without pellets most of the time).
Why the hell people thinks rifles are only there to hurt? Newspaper rarely talk about people being hurt by rifles as much as those hurt by Delhi car drivers.
thanks for posting the photos n answers
best regards

Re: AIMCO M300 ...... a beautiful rifle
Mr. Joy Biswas's online dealing is very good & very prompt. I have bought 3 IHP Air Rifles over a period of time from him online. I have been to Kolkata and visited his shop thrice, but I am sorry to say that I have always found his staff very uncooperative. Whenever I have enquired about different Air Rifles & air rifle spare parts such as AIMCO M300 and other india made and that too specific kolkata made air rifles, I have been rudely refused. This is my experience maybe I might have visited his shop at wrong times.

Re: AIMCO M300 ...... a beautiful rifle
Can you pls answer where is the center of gravity for this M300 rifle? I think the center of gravity should be little towards the trigger guard so as to give a firm grip !
I have seen the under lever rifle from Jodhpur and it has terrible balance. Due to the under lever rod the center of gravity towards the muzzle which is far away from the wooden furniture. The wooden furniture is also very light weight and it further worsen the balance. I tends to shoot downwards/upward due to constant balancing needs.
Though, I must admit that the air rifle from Jodhpur is a fine piece of equipment and its beautiful. The price quoted at Universal Arms, Allahabad is Rs 6500.
