Nags, I did not know you have a Delisle carbine. . I saw one and it was very nice.I made a post on IFG too. I read that it's so silent that the only sound you hear is the bolt being used.

This VZ58 is CZech made how different are its innards from AK 47? I think Indian armed forces has been purchasing AKs either from these folks or Romanians not sure . Czechs these guys are probably born gun smiths or engineers Bren gun, CZ pistols and its believed that the VZ 24 is of very high quality some ehat different from the Mauser. Another well known export to India is Czeh model Yana Gupta no wonder an acquaintance of mine is spending so much time there turning around a factory there LOL..

These are the semi-auto only versions of the MP 5 family and can be had for about 2.5-3 K euros. I would love to have the integrally suppressed SD-5 clone which is the top most of the guns in the pic. 3K is a lot of money, in our context where you can pick up a Vz 58 for 400. From an Indian context it is less than what you would pay for a 20 year old Brno .22... amazing isnt it.

Are these guns legal to own - I mean without any restrictions on magazine capacity etc? STGW 57 thats an odd looking rifle but Swiss know your guns quite well

Yes they are all legal to own. Just so long as you have the appropriate paperwork. As far as I know there are no restrictions on magazine capacity.

The STGW is a strange looking rifle due to the inline design. When it was introduced it was the most expensive military rifle in the world, and not surprisingly was pretty much used by the Swiss alone. To date it is arguably the most accurate general purpose military rifle produced. In switzerland it is still used in a number of competitions for military rifles. The rifle it self is completely over engineered, and once I get mine will post detailed pics to illustrate what I mean.

But it is not legal to own these rifle in India?

Amit I believe semi-auto's are PB in India so it wouldnt be legal unless you get a PB license.
