Looks like 83% approve (that's fahrenheit, I presume, not celsius), which counts as a landslide in non-dictatorship countries, so I gather we're all cool with hunting pics here. The others can..can..can accede to the overwhelming will of the majority. Or not. imo. Good. I wouldn't want to explain to my bird dog that she's not wanted here. And I don't think you would either.

Thanks for the pics, the picture started my day of very well indeed. As you say 83% have voted in favour of hunting related posts. In my opinion, the Poll, was a good event. Opinions and views contrary to one's own, certainly helps in reviewing ones own premises and foundations of our thinking. It definitely has helped me to appreciate the opposite sides views on the subject, barring the killing aspect, many pro hunting and extremely knowledgeble IFGians have put forth their educated opinions on the subject, aspects of which cannot just be brushed aside. Some of these are conservation management, animal behaviour, biology, etc. Therefore, the choice to view or not to view pro hunting related posts rests in a simple click of the mouse.

Lets have a section for hunting stories that take place out of India. Those who want to read them do so and others don't. Also old timer stories 'like the pig sticking' ones were very nice to read from the historical point of view, and I was amazed at the deep knowledge our members have but lets not write about anything illegal or gruesome. To me a fair hunt is a hunter with his rifle going into the forest on foot, living off the land, shooting an animal (non endangered of course) skinning it and preserving/consuming the meat over a period of time. Definitely sharing the meat with his dear friends. Its great if any of us Indians do get the chance to hunt abroad. Blood thirsty killing or excess is defiantly unjustified abroad even if one can afford it.

Great story sir, every generation does something that was acceptable in their times. Times change. Looking back you may say that you enjoyed the hunt and why not, but you may think twice in the present day and age about bagging the stag again.
I feel generally materialistic greed wantonly ravages the Earth of her bounty.Be it mining or tree felling or sometimes overdevelopment. They say that regulated hunting brings in the big bucks for certain countries in Africa. That money in turn helps keep the animals safe from poachers and also helps the locals, in turn helping the eco-system. It's sad that India, a land of great animals and even greater hunting has not been able to work out something on the same lines. The poachers still kill and nobody can do a thing. Soon there will be no animals left to see, leave alone kill. And that would be a very sad state of affairs.

Its the way we think, if one is open to other people's point of view, opinion and expriences, bridges can be built. But where the ego is so huge the vision blinkered, then you are confronted with bigotry accompanied by a sneering attitude and doubts on other peoples abilities. This hold true for both sides.
