Hi Friends,
I'm bit confused after seeing couple of sale advertisements in the Buy/Sell section. I'm really not well versed in the weapon arena and found Blanks and Air Guns both can fire pellets. So what is the difference ?
I think I'm getting picture of CO2, Pneumatic, Spring actioned Air guns but Blanks ?
Excuse me if my post comes with a silly question.
Blanks & Air Guns what is the difference ?

Siva,
Blanks are replicas and they can make Big Bang. Some dummy bullets or cartridges were used to create Bangs.
May be you can use to frighten somebody or may be a typical use as you might have seen in olympics or somewhere to start an event. No bullets or pellets are fired from them.
The other stuffs you can understand in mean time.

Re: Blanks & Air Guns what is the difference ?
Hi,
> The difference between a Blank Firing Gun & Air Gun is that the former fires blank cartridges that contain only ignitable powder without any projectile such as a bullet in it. These guns are used mainly for starting sporting events / races. When fired they make a loud noise. Blank Guns are always fired pointing upwards, towards the sky. While the Air Gun expels a lead pellet through the release of compressed air from its power plant at velocities ranging from 500 fps to 1000fps.
> Air Guns at close ranges from 5 - 10ft to 50ft) when fired, can kill small pests (Rabbits, Bandicoots, Crows etc) when hit on vital spots of their body.
> However its better & safer to be away & not facing a Blank Gun when it is fired because, you may get powder burns.
> Remember 'Never Ever' give a gun to anybody, pointing the barrel at him / her. It pays to play safe.
Cheers
