hi all, need some guidance
my question is general and might be repetitive as most of the newbies will be asking the same..
i just want to practice shooting in home and i live in chennai, so pls suggest me which rifle to buy which doesn't need any license. cost isn't a factor ( i mean until 10K) but i need a good one as it would be my first gun.
and at the last,is hunting birds an offence?
help..

Re: help..
Hi Welcome to IFG.
I'm just a week old to Air Rifle ownership experience and I'm from Chennai too. As of now the only good Indian made Air Rifle which doesn't require a license is IHP/National air guns.
If you are thinking of participating in target shooting competition go for IHP/National .177 cal rifle and if you are thinking of real life rifle size shooting experience I would say take a look at IHP/National 35 .22 cal rifle (I have this one).
Price wise Aimco of Calcutta looks attractive and there are many smiling faces who took the guns from them in this forum. I took my gun from Mr.Pandian of velachery and owns a archery but price wise on the higher side(everywhere in chennai the same story). What I find interesting is Mr.Pandian is very knowledgeable gentle man and he is a lawyer too, hence I didn't mind paying a little premium in picking up my gun from local vendor(Mr.Pandian).
I'm also planning to call few similar interested people together to go for weekend shooting practice, let me know if you are interested (send me a pm with your number, I will talk to you off the forum about our weekend trips).
