Request for inputs | making me a better marksman
Hi
I fnally got my rifle and I have tried some shots.
I am really good when it comes to hitting beer bottols. With a rifle bulls eye I learnt that I am not as good as I want to be
I learnt that I am shooting between 3-6 O' Clock.
which means (from a correction target) my grip is too tight and need to work on squeezing the trigger better.
I would really appriciate any inputs on this subject on firing 3-6 O' Clock
Thanks
Regards
Gaurav

try adjusting sights
breath control to remove shaking hands/body
relax and enjoy
try shooting with support to see how it goes.

Hi
Thanks for the input
I can see some of the points you have made.
My hands are indeed shaking. Please elaborate on the breath control.
What do you mean by adjusting sights. There is a bridge with a circle on the gun to move the sight up and down.
Support as in bipod or something similar to keep the rife on?
Thanks

Hi
Thanks a ton. I tried the inputs given here today and the zeroing in helped a lot and I can see consistancey in my shots. I am not hitting the bulls eye yet but the quality of my shots has certainly improved.
Thanks a lot...

All you need to do a lot off can be summed up in one word:
Practise.
What are you shooting?
If it is a rifle:
Get snap caps, and practise dry firing.
If you're shooting a caliber larger than .22 LR, balance a 25 p coin on the barrel while dry firing. If your technique is correct, it shouldnt fall off.
Learn to shoot with both eyes open, especially when using a scope.
Practise at every given opportunity.

Re: Request for inputs | making me a better marksman
Hi
A lot ofthese inputs have been great.
I think I am farily ok with "squeeze the trigger less than just enough to fire a shot then aim and fire the shot to minimize recoil"
which has given me enough improvement with my shooting + aim.
I am however still struggling with breathing control ?(i tend to foget it with all the fun I am having) and I dont think I have yet understood it completly yet... (inputs are most welcome)
I am better off at my positions... that is however a matter of time...
Thanks so much everyone... for all the great inputs...
