I assume you have a new iof revolver with firing pin mounted in revolver and due to dust accumulation it is getting stuck and on repeat strike this again starts working .Try to fire atleast 60 rounds without cleaning and check for the results. If at all there is a problem with firing pin movement then revolver will not fire for that many rounds and cylinder will be locked up .
I am not a gunsmith but just out of my experience.
Cheers,
James..

Dear all,

I bought my revilver on 10 of feb 2010 from OCF Chandigarh. I have fired few shots from it. Its trigger is quite hard to press. I mean I am not able to press it with my index fingre so I have to pull the trigger with central finger. I spoke to a arms dealer in Mohali. He says triggers are generally hard and it will be smoooth after som time.. Is ot true or I should show the weapon to some technician. Please also suggest any good technician in Punjab.

Maverickwebley,

The trigger pull is hard but not that hard. Please get it checked.Re. competent gunsmith, not a lot of them around.I know of only one Bobby at Patiala. He runs a gunshop by the name of Peerless Arms. You can find his contact details in the yellow pages. There is another one I have heard people speak of,Jeet Mistry at Bathinda.I do not have his contact details nor any personal experience of his work.

Hi Brar, saw your writeup, its a safety feature by the IOF :D ,you see normally it is adviced that you keep the 1st chamber of a revolver empty for safety reasons, our dedicated worksmen at IOF ensured that the same happens, they are so smart that even with a round in the chamber the gun wont fire  ,really buddy think you are lucky that the rest 5 fire

Well it does not seem that it is a work of some kind of safety mechanism. It does not make sense for IOF to create such a mechanism and at the same time not inform the customers, since the life or death of a person can depend on the time required to fire the just first one shot. I would advise to get the revolver checked by a good gunsmith.

The trigger pull is usually hard for double action revolvers. Try firing in single action mode, you will not find the trigger pull that hard as in double action mode. Since you are able to fire with your middle finger and not with your index finger, it might also be possible for some reason your index finger is not that strong enough. But if the trigger pull is really that hard in double action mode to the extent of making the firing a problem, then you have a reason to get it checked by a good gunsmith. Bobby Sidhu's contact details are Peerless Firearms in Patiala : Ph. 09417008529, 09878608529 (Reference: http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php ... &start=263)
