Navi, thanks for those links! I've always found the Macchi C.202 to be a most interesting aircraft -- one of the best performing planes that Italy had. Like France, for various reasons Italy wasn't able to maintain a front rank position in producing fighter powerplants, but the Macchi C.202 certainly was a fine design.
However, the actual history behind Solaroli di Briona, especially Begum Samru, is very interesting -- thanks again! It doesn't seem as if our more recent historical figures are nearly as interesting or colorful! What a time she lived through and what events she participated in!
