Greetings from the Lonestar State (Texas)
Hello All,
It was good to come across this site and I am looking forward to making a few like minded friends.
A little about myself, I am originally from Hyderabad, India living in Houston, TX.
I do not consider myself a newbie as far as guns are concerned, I grew up with guns and might I add was fortunate to have shot and owned foreign made guns only, personally not really sure how the Indian ones are but have not heard anything praise worthy.
I own a Beretta 92 F which is a 9mm semi auto,Browning Gold semi auto and the Remington 870 12ga pump action (my field gun).
Buy list: Glock 32 357 sig or Beretta Cheetah .380 acp (plan to take one back to India on a TR) hopefully the laws don't change by then.
M4 Carbine and a Holland and Holland .375 mag Bolt Action ..
I will be puting up the pictures of the guns I own in a couple of days.....
Looking forward to making friends here....
Cheers
Imran Hussain

Re: Greetings from the Lonestar State (Texas)
Great to see you here, Imran! I run into a number of Indian folks in Texas who enjoy firearms, and the rest, I try very hard to "convert!" The one thing I've found to be effective in opening a door of conversation -- at least one that drops the instinctive anti-gun barriers -- is to show my RFI 2A. When folks see the Asoka stamped on it, that seems to always make a positive impression.
Anyhow, your list of guns nice and your "to get" list shows great taste! (in my opinion, anyway!) Please enjoy IFG!

Re: Greetings from the Lonestar State (Texas)
Sorry guys for getting back to you all so late, was travelling the last few days...
@tim, do you ever visit Houston? We have a couple of good shooting ranges here one of this is the American Shooting Center (ASC). Once I get some free time plan to take up skeet/Trap...
@Vikram, do you hunt or are you part of any gun club over there in the UK? I know for a fact that the gun laws are not as libral as they are in the State of Texas..
@ngrewal, which state are you in??
@Inder, I agree with you, there are a lot of indians here, couple fo resons this is ideal for us are, the climate and it is not as expensive as California/East Coast/Chicago where a vast majority of Indians had setteled over the years.
@farhan, yes that is my wish list that I intend to have one day...are you originally from Hyd, I mean your father, grandfather?I am asking this cos Hyd is a place where everyone knows someone...
Regards
Imran

You want more gun control? Use both hands!

Yes I do, we have our hunting property close to San Antonio(west texas), which is 4 hours from Houston. That is where we go during the Deer hunting season which begins from December and ends in the month of Feb. Since 90% of the land in Texas is privately owned, choosing the right property is very crucial, we don't have the opetion of hunting on public lands like they have in other states, Michigan etc.
Deers, Doves, Ducks, Quail, Turkey are the most common kinds of game here..
Regards,
Imran

I do like to hunt and own plenty of guns. . I am not a member of any club at the moment though I used to be a member of BASC. The handguns are restricted. But, provided one ticks a few brackets like not being a criminal, mentally insane and show a place to shoot, you can own upto .50BMG on the same license. Not US,but quite gun friendly.Hunting?More than one can have, all the year around and not very expensive-once you are in the loop. The species may not be as diverse as USA or Canada.But,yes.Hunting can be had. Most of it is on private land.
Shooter has a lot more to offer on these lines than me.
