Journo's guide to Firearm Identification
Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

Reminds me of articles after rathores silver calling him rifleman.

That is a "Spud Gun".whats the 'ak-47' in red black just before the car. and while we are at at, for the benefit of some of our new members, i would like you to identify all the objects in the poster (barring the car of course)
You stick the barrel into a potato and it cores out a piece that stays in the barrel.
Squeezing the trigger then uses air to expel the potato slug. (LOL, be careful ...very dangerous )
Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
In order, the objects on the page are:
1. An AK variant (Avtomat Kalashnikova)(usually an AK 47 would be fully automatic but variants are usually available in the US in semi-automatic form)
2. An AR-15 variant
3. FN P-90
4. IMI's Uzi type submachine gun
5. .50 cal rifle (could be a Barrett M90 or M95)
6. Walther PP/PPK type of pistol
7. CZ 75 pistol (Pre-B version)
8. RPG 7 type launcher and rocket ("Ruchnoy Protivotankoviy Granatomyot" not "Rocket Propelled Grenade" as is commonly thought. It translates to "hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher")
9. A Spud Gun
10. Le Automobile
11. A percussion-cap muzzle-loading pistol
12. Ruger No. 1 rifle

Ah man, M24. Stop it, you're making me drool.
Do you know how many years it has been since I have had Parle G biscuits and foothpath Chai?
If I'm ever in Delhi, I'll make it a point to collect on that.

Re: Journo's guide to Firearm Identification
Last week i saw the 10 best rifles in the World and teh AK 47 is the number 1 among them.
During Vietnam war the AK 47 was pushed to service along side with M16 from US and it was a winner.
After that all bad boys and all bad countries have AK47 as their primary weapon in view of America...but nevertheless AK had revolutionize the whole concept of guns...

I like the One in Blue, though the shape seems to be a bit odd.
