Hello From Toronto
Hello,
I came across this forum in an article in The Washington Post.
\I am a Canadian-American dual citizen actively involved in the gun rights movement in both these countries. Also, I am a certified range safety officer and a certified tactical pistol instructor.I can carry an concealed handgun in about 34 U.S. States, but this right was taken away in Canada about thirty-five years ago. It still exists on paper, but anti-gun bureaucrats keep it impossible to implement.
I am anxious to work with my Indian colleagues to secure the right to equalized self-defense in The U.S., Canada, and now India. I will be reading this forum every day, learning and helping, if possible.

You want more gun control? Use both hands!

Re: Hello From Toronto
Hi Shooter.
No. I have my provincial small-game licence and I got a deer tag for this season. But, with my spinal arthritis, I didn't relish sitting in the icy cold at 5AM waiting for the deer that never comes. BTW, I would use my Chinese SKS with iron sights, which is just about right for deer and smaller game in heavily wooded Ontario. Maybe next fall, if I could outfit myself with a nice blind keep a little bit warm, I might reconsider.
BTW, as a resident of Toronto, I have a number of friends from India. For example, my neighbour is from Gujarat, we have friends from Goa, and I'm still in touch with an ex-student of mine from Tamil-Nadu.

Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.
