I`ve got something very similar to that double barrel self-driven gun for shooting the big Foxes we get around here. I don`t have compensators on the barrels though as they`re far too loud ( The local farmers get really pi**ed off when they cr*p themselves whilst paying attention to the missus because of a super-loud BOOM ! ) so have the barrels threaded for moderators instead.
You`ve heard of rats being as big as Cats ? Well our Foxes are big enough to eat the ( Lion sized ) cats that eat the rats that are as big as ( Leopard sized ) cats.
In Mozambique there are Spotted Hyenas that are so big that they will steal Buffalo from under your noses and drive them off in Bedford TK trucks............ So I`m assured by a friend anyway.........
I think I`ll have another cream cake later but in the meantime I`m going to do a spaghetti Bolognaise.

Is this the menu for our march trip?

It`s no good planning things without telling me you know because if you suddenly spring an idea on me and I don`t care for it I won`t join in.
Bolognaise under way...... Cream cake will follow.
You lika da spaghetti ?

"Biscuits rule, OK".

Funny you should mention tweed ..... - I don`t have any tweed by the way - but Vikram has been showing me some tweed shooting jackets.
The wuss reckons they`re too hot for Hyderabad !
Nice - a wool/synthetic mix, waterproof and with modern type features but a traditional look.... and a heck of a good price.

Yuck - I detest Earl Grey...the bergamot is foul.
Don`t like vanilla flavoured tea either ... or chocolate.

Why did you send me the tweed links ? It`s Dev that wants them.

Hasn`t this thread gone just a little off-topic ?

I like my tea to be a good blend of green label & red label (broke bond), mix plenty of milk & sugar and we have "chai"... one cup a day is just fine thank you!

Now on to the topic at hand... I do like my guns SxS, why? Well, to be honest, more than anything else, I tend to walk a lot, and they are by and large a lot lighter and tend to come to hand much faster... after the first hour every extra half pound does begin to tell... and I am basically a lazy bug*3r (as many will gladly attest)! :P Also, (and this is purely subjective) I personally love the looks of the typical SxS...

The O/U has a much better sighting plane, no doubt about that! The felt recoil is also much lesser, which would be a major asset for anyone who is planning on shooting more than 50 pops in a row.

I think for most people, the choice would be based on the following:

1) End use
2) Price differential
3) Personal taste

A mix of all and (for most) in no particular order... buy what you like and enjoy, so long as you are having fun and enjoying your gun - who's to tell you what is right and what is wrong? ;)

Cheers!
