Dev,Abhijit,Amit,Nishant and OUP, my heartfelt thanks for taking the initiative. Vkj, you're being modest here. Yours is by no means a small contribution. It's a great achievement.

Now for my stupid question, Whats Next?? Can we have more suggestions for advertising our message /furthering the cause??

People, remember, we have to be 3 moves ahead of the govt. players.

Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

Need more write ups in the newspapers. A few more snippets like the one Vkj managed. We need the energy of shiva and the rest of you to keep on churning ideas to spread the word. It should be a tsunami of information and public opinion. The information has to reach all the people and the issue must be discussed till we find a way to reach a fair conclusion. Do the online versions of the national dailies have a letters to the editor section?

Regards,

Dev

Thats a great step and action you took..

Dev

One way is to write letters to the dailies or editors and who knows they might publish. Compelling reason being curbing the RKBA, chance to fight back etc. Another effective option as vkjalan just showed is targeting journos and editors. While back in 2008 many individual investors were mislead by by banks in purchasing risky securities. No newspaper including Wall street journal, CNBS, CNN etc would even report.. finally victims formed a forum started targeting journalist covering such topics. It worked ...
If possible we should start compiling list of journos...just a thought...last resort take an ad out...

Cheers

Some one should tell our Home Minister this
Of all tyrannies a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience- CS Lewis

You want more gun control? Use both hands!

I've posted at the comments thread there .. message is pending for moderator review before being visible.
I've also mentioned relevant URLs, including for docs at IFG.

Thanks 'sat', 'shooter'.

MHA seems to be following a Chinese proverb — “better do in inches than in yards”. I fully agree, it is a smokescreen, under impression of doing social good, disguised to indirectly take away the Constitutional & Legal Rights of citizens slowly and steadily.
The main point of concern at the moment is:
1)The proposed draft in the present form should not get implemented, since it is against the very “Doctrine of our Constitution”, indirectly taking away Right to Life protected by Article 21, by denying/making process difficult practically to the extent of denial, to acquire credible tools of self defense, making it's citizens defenseless against acts of armed aggression by criminals.(Criminals by the very nature of their business, always stay armed and organized when committing a crime, no matter what the law was/is/or will be.) Hence any law formulated by the state cannot overlook the Right to Protection, Right to Life, and the very "Doctrine of Constitution"
Ref: http://www.legalserviceindia.com/articles/thyg.htm
2)If the proposed draft gets implemented in its present form or with some minor changes, we should be well prepared physically & mentally to file case/PIL etc. in Hon'able Court, keeping the same Chinese proverb in mind — “better do in inches than in yards”
