Binocular or telescope or ...... ?

Post by muthu » Fri Jan 08, 2010 7:00 pm

What instrument should i go for to get a closer look of the target point ?
To correct my mistake at every next shot i fire, i need a close look at the target after firing the previous shot.
Most of my time is eaten by walking between target point, and shooting point.

Binocular or telescope or.......... any other instrument available ? (sorry, not aware if the names  )

irrespective of the equipement you suggest, let it be a cost effective one please.....

Thanks
Muthu

What you want is a spotting scope. There are various types available, and you can buy one that suits your budget. Like all optics, you get what you pay for.

As MOA says spotting scope is what you should be looking at..

muthuji. spotting scope is ideal. but a lot depends on what exactly u need it for. for eg . what range do u shoot at? how often do u shoot? whats ur budget? in a place like india these questions may also have an impact on ur decision.

do dot underestimate the power of 'jugad' . for eg. if u shoot once a yr, at a range of say 50m even a binocular can serve u well. if u have one at home, then u need not buy anything.

I'm presuming ure talking about an airgun because, if I remember correctly, u felt quite strongly againgt firearms.
if its an airgun then u must be practicing not more than 50 m max. probably closer to 10-25 m. u can make do 'jugad' with a binoculars. even if u dont have one, it will serve u well if ure a wildlife enthusiast or a tourist.

If ure into more serious shooting, then a spotting scope is a good investment as moa suggested.
