Does USPS clear customs without bothering you??? Who are the partners of USPS in India who clear the customs/collect the custom tax/deliver the goods?
I am about to import few things from US through USPS. Please clarify.

Re: modern knives
USPS from USA correspond to Indian Post, same like EMS from other places, nobody bother me, post men brought me a parcel, but I was not at home, next day morning I went to post office and got it after paying INR1398. No problem at all. Knife is pure fighting knife - best fixed blade I ever have built like tank. With one move I was able to cut bottle of Sprite easily like butter. Shipment cost about about usd40
sheath great too.

Re: modern knives
Always insure your shipment. Many a times you will just not receive your parcel and the Post Office shows ignorance ! A tracking number helps, but all USPS mail does not have tracking facility.

Re: modern knives
Praetorian II, now that's a mean looking one. You think 6.3mm thickness is okay for such a large blade??

Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

Re: modern knives
it is only middle portion of blade 6.3mm, thickness on sides it is about 4mm. that is very good practical design, middle portion gives a strength against lateral blows and knife is not heavy. otherwise with 7 inch blade it can be quite heavy knife. So what we have is strong, long and same time not so heavy knife. Brilliant!!m24 wrote:Praetorian II, now that's a mean looking one. You think 6.3mm thickness is okay for such a large blade??

Weight of the knife play important role in modern combat, less heavy knife more speed and better control over movements, but the question is how not to compromise on knife strength and blade length. If it is knife against knife then it is 6-10 sec fight, so how fast you can move your knife is a crucial.

just compared weights of Praetorian II and Kabar Fin tanto
Praetorian II with 7 inch blade - 290g
my Kabar Fin tanto with fixed blade 4 7/8" - 310g
Fin's D2 steel more heavy and with 310g it is not so speedy tool.
So, it is quite fantastic 7inch blade and only 290g in weight.

new spyderco knife
Spyderco Warrior ~ FB25BK
length overall 10 5/8 in. (269 mm)
blade length 5 11/16 in. (144 mm)
blade steel H-1
cutting edge 5 5/32-2 3/4 in. (131/70 mm)
weight 8.2 oz. (232 g)
hole diameter 15/64 in. (6 mm)
blade thickness 5/32 in. (4 mm)
handle material FRN
The Warrior fixed blade is one of the world’s most intriguing combat knives. Based largely on the groundbreaking research of close-combat icon Michael Echanis, the original Warrior was a radical design intended primarily for use with reverse-grip tactics inspired by the Korean martial art of HwaRangDo. Produced in limited quantities by the late Al Mar and later resurrected by the martial artist Bob Taylor and Echanis contemporary Randy Wanner, it is one of the most coveted combat knives ever made.
The Spyderco Warrior faithfully retains all the salient features of the original, while adding a number of performance enhancements. Its revitalization happened at the request of our Israeli customer, Guy Rafaeli.
Ground from rust-free austenitic H-1 steel, it possesses the same differential hardness properties of a clay-tempered Samurai sword, giving it extreme cutting power and shock resistance. Its full-tang construction and textured handle scales provide a superior grip and edge orientation, maximizing the knife’s effectiveness when employed with its signature tactics. The sheath is a black ballistic nylon snap-closed sheath with Molle-vest attachment capability.
Spyderco will donate approximately 3% of sales of the Warrior to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. For more than 29 years, the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization, has provided college educations to the surviving children of Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps special operations personnel killed in combat or training. Additionally, the Warrior Foundation provides immediate financial assistance to special operations personnel severely wounded so their loved ones can be bedside during their recovery.
