What NRAI should be doing...
Here's what NRAI should be doing. Can the members here who are also members at NRAI tell whether we have any such programs in NRAI?
Here's what NRA does: http://www.nrahq.org/education/index.asp
Whether you're a new or prospective gun owner in search of training, whatever your age or level of expertise, whatever type of firearm you're interested in, NRA's Education & Training Division is here to help you.
TRAINING DEPARTMENT
From beginner to developing competitor, the NRA Training Department develops safe, ethical, responsible shooters through a network of more than 55,000 instructors, more than 2,800 coaches, and more than 1,600 training counselors. NRA Training Counselors recruit and train instructors to teach NRA's basic firearm courses. NRA Coaches, in turn, develop competitors at the club, high school, collegiate and national levels.
WOMEN'S PROGRAMS
It hasn't always been easy for women to break into the world of shooting sports. But now with organized programs for women, by the women of the NRA, it's as easy as can be. Whether a woman's interest is personal safety, gun safety, gun knowledge, marksmanship, hunting, or recreational or competitive shooting, the NRA has a variety of programs and activities that all encourage female participation at all skill levels.
YOUTH PROGRAMS
The NRA helps America's adult leaders and national youth serving organizations set up shooting programs, introduces the first-time or intermediate shooter to a lifetime of recreational and competitive opportunities, and develops programs for NRA youth members and NRA-affiliated youth clubs.
GUNSMITHING
NRA short term gunsmithing schools offer courses on topics such as general gunsmithing, bluing, stockmaking, checkering, engraving, and parkerizing. More specialized courses focus on topics such as accurizing the AR-15 rifle; accurizing varmint rifles; fine tuning single-action revolvers and long guns for cowboy shoots; accurizing the Colt Model 1911 pistol; and English Gunsmithing. Law enforcement armorer classes are also offered.
There's also Hunter services which is not applicable in India. Everything else definitely is. More on the link given above.
Regards

Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

nay you must be of your rockers mate. dream on.
NARI exits for itself and not for service to others. as its by an act of parliament. if any money went for such projects it would be shot into someone family account.
where as NRA is by members of members for members and any one else who wants to be part of it.

Any idea what it would take to make NRAI of the members, by the members, for the members? And don't say a change in the parliament act because that will be EXERCISE, and I don't like exercises.

I fully agree with nagarifle, one way for us and like minded people is to join NRAI and slowly and steadily remove old farts.removing the old farts,
(that will be exercise you should enjoy) and all the workers and place them with honest, support loving, who want to work at root level and not eat the fruit.

Re: What NRAI should be doing...
but GB, the old farts have been around for years. and to remove them is not way easy. regardless of how many of us join the NARI since all votes in one party favour .
