Have made further changes based on feedback, fresh thoughts. I have used some of the material previously posted on this thread amongst others by vkjalan & goodboy_mentor, as well as stuff from Vikram's article... some of the stuff is direct lift offs from your work, so thank you all in advance for not beating me up about it! ;) Also, I'll be attaching Vikram's article along with the snail mail I will be sending them, feel free to do the same. It's at http://indiansforguns.com/right_to_protection.pdf

You can either copy paste all/ some of the material from my post to draft your responses, or just send it in as it is, the pdf file is attached to the previous post, in case that's the route you wish to take. If you take the latter route, but are not interested in CC'ing everyone listed under the CC list and/ or you don't wish to include the listed Enclosure (Vikram's article), then I'm afraid you'll just have to copy paste into another document and reformat it.

Let me know if anyone has any other thoughts on this.
Cheers!

Perfect Job, Chief. No words can justify the satisfaction I feel now after reading the draft letter made by you and contributions from everyone else.

Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

Gentlemen,

Upon suggestions from goodboy_mentor I tried to filter email addresses of :
Prominent MPs,
Young MPs
Other MPs whose background suggests they're more likely to support the cause.
Political parties
Civil liberty NGOs,
Government ministries/departments,
Think tanks and
Other autonomous bodies.

I've sent the compilation to him and will add further soon.
Hope it has let me contribute somewhere in the ongoing effort.

Thanks everyone.

Dear Comrades,

I just sent an email to Mr Malhotra with a cc to Mrs Swaraj, Mrs Gandhi & Mr Jaitley. Thanks Abhijeet once again for making the task as easy as ctrl c + ctrl v.

Hope this helps the cause

Should I forward the same mail to the list mentioned above?

Regards,
Shadow

Thanks for sending the email, yes please do forward this email to above people, rather you can resend the same email to Mr. Mehlotra, with CC to above people, as well as any more number you think fit, since this concerns "each and every citizen" of the country, hence even if you theoretically CC to each and every citizen of the country, there is nothing wrong about it. It will make the MHA to take the email seriously. It would be great if you can send, hard-copy by registered/speedpost to the concerned deputy secretary Mr. Melhotra and CC hard copies to Hon'able Prime Minister, Mrs Swaraj, Mrs Gandhi & Mr Jaitley, then nothing like it.

I doubt if the Communist parties/ International Organization for Human Right Protection/ Centre for Civil Society/ Civil Society would be sympathetic to our cause. I personally would leave those ones out.
