Re: check out this iof 32
Hi Guys,
lot of people ask what is in the pistol that costs so much money!but without going into further debate, here are some of the operations that we perform on the pistol:
well,we have done all the necessary machinings on the critical areas which otherwise is missing even on the COLT 1903.we heat treat all the important areas for example on the slide, frame, replace parts, bring chamber dimentions to CIP and SAAMI specs etc, etc, this is just a small part of the job profile.
Furthermore,we extend full lifetime warranty on the components replaced by us and any malfunction that comes up because of the operations done by us.
also there are been weapons coming to us in recent time with cracked slides(pistols) and broken top strap on (revolver) including imported ones!this is mostly due to bad heat treatment on IOF made arms, there also is another factor that is excessive pressure in KF ammo in both the calibers.THIS WE DONT COVER everything else is![/b]regards

Re: check out this iof 32
Dear All,
this is the same as my pistol , except for me , Bobby did it in two tone - silver and black . The silver colour on the body is plating , the black on the slide is bluing . After 2 months of EDC , the bluing is still intact . A good holster in suede or chamois goes a long way .
I have now put 230 rounds thru it -- not a single misfire .
Abhi -You are right about the sights and extractor - they are custom . In fact one of the nice mods is that after the pistol is empty , the slide snaps back and is open - as it is supposed to happen with pistols - but a couple of farm fresh Ashanis I saw at gunshops did not have this feature . The barrel is also a pleasure to put back after field stripping . I guess Bobby did some work on the grooves too .
The lock can do with some more improvement - it tough to put back . Bobby has also promised push button mag drop in 2-3 months .
Overall I did not mind paying the money .
The mag takes 7 , I normally carry six to make allowances for Indian mag spring .I have to write to Bobby for the specs so that i can import the springs from Wolffe .The plastic wedge is to prevent damage to the pistol if if drops . Typically if the thingy is loaded , the butt hits the ground first . I actually test dropped mine over a carpet 5-6 times to check this out ( there was no round in the hose of course ) .
If anyone has an imported handgun bought in the early eighties or nineties - its cool . Otherwise our desi Ashani - modified by Bobby to impart the x-factor is good enough - at least for me . It looks good and does its job . Of course it does not have any snob value .
