Dear friends
Prohibited weapons are not lised in the Arms Rules. But the Arms Act defines what are prohibited weapons and ammunitions. See Section 2. And also see the Notifications. No dealer or person can possess these weapons. It is only for Govt. use. Possession of these weapons is a non-bailable offence. Direct free ticket to Thikar Jail.
In the Schedule to Arms Rules there is a list of RESTRICTED WEAPONS.
Like: 410 Musket Rifle/303 Rifle/.45 Pistol or Revolver/.455 Pistol or Revolver/.38 Pistol or Revolver. Or equal bore in metric method. The licence to possesses these weapons are to be issued by Home Ministry, Govt. Of India, through the local Licensing Authority. Do not confuse Prohibited weapons with Restricted Weapons.
Civil weapons are dfferent. .380 Revolver or Pistol and their equal in metric are civil weapons.
