Tingriman,

That's a very well written document and it clearly indicates, you have spent quality time on it, Great Job Man...

Lionheart, Thank you for showing your confidence, i will definitely try and do my best, though their are others as well, who can contribute much better then me. To start off, we can sought a permission from Vikram to use his Magnificent write up on "Right to Protection", others who can contribute significantly are Mundaire, HVJ1, Goodboy_Mentor.

Your efforts to get involved with Media can pay back very well, though as mentioned by me earlier, i would prefer the article to be straight to the point and supported with FACTS, we can't afford Loose-ends with Media.

I will try to post by bit very soon.

Ravi.

I feel we already have the matter with FACTS created by Vikram/Ravi/Tingriman and I have put up all the documents(modified the .pdf files into .doc so that anyone can modify/make changes/improvements) at http://cid-eda3387d0c647134.skydrive.li ... px/.Public for everyone to share/modify and improve.

I don't think phone number is necessary.

Excellent, thing which I feel should be changed is on page 3 last paragraph which states ".......terrorists use illegal, unlicensed, firearms imported into this country." instead of "imported" it should be smuggled. Since import is a legal procedure done with knowledge and consent of government and smuggle is done without any knowledge or consent of government.

sarkar HVJ1

kahi tari naad khula pahije
i mean something short and simple of no more than 300-450 lines... which can fit into half the page of a PUNE MIRROR...please use the internet e-news of TOI

We need to have something which can be to the point and which can be easily understood by the Comman Man ... coz what i observed is if we use Act's, Sections,Ammendments etc these people will hardly understand.
We need to jagaofy their ander ka zammeer and educate them about RKBA nad Guns...
Even the comman man should feel "yaar muzhe bhi ek gun leni chahiye...for the sake of self defense"...
Their are many who dont know the difference between .22,.32,.38 caliber/bore etc , so need to focus a bit on this as well..

i just felt this , coz i have interacted with a columnist from Sakaal & Pudhari etc
guys though you have the rights to correct me if i am wrong

guru

Yes you appear to be right to a certain extent, our purpose is to bring about awareness among common man, especially the media, which is as ignorant as common man about firearms. For this I think power point presentation will be most effective, Right to Protection.ppt lying at http://cid-eda3387d0c647134.skydrive.li ... px/.Public can be modified as desired and saved as .pps and emailed across to media along with .pdf of the same file. The file can be converted into .pdf by Open Office available for free at http://www.openoffice.org/

LIonheartguru,
I also feel that he article should be short and to the point, however, it is Tingriman's great effort that we have reached at this point. I would like Tingriman's comments before attempting to shorten the article without compromising on its readabilty quotient.

are we forgettin Kiran Bedi (IPS) just to point out that women do carry guns ... how about farmers who have to protect their fields from wild animals ... how about people stayin in Naxal/Ulfa/chambala area ?...how about abhinav bindra ,jaspal rana, anjali bhagwat,Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, etc gettin rewarded due to shooting sport...?

i just thought this MIGHT help a bit coz its you people who are writing the most ...

:agree: please Pm me the finalized draft so that i can get it published in local news paper which have the reach in the deep interiors of garhwal [im not talking about AMAR ujala or danik jagran or any other national]

we have IFGians in almost every state ...this is the best thing so when the national media pick up this issue we will already have PUBLISHED support in local papers/media.
Freedom :)
