If by any way we can bring the comments posted by "goodboy_mentor" (http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7304) to the print media, then we can reach out to a large number of people.
Out of so many members there might be a possibility that we have one reporter among us who can open the gates of print media for us.
After reading such articles we are bound to get more supporters....Only if we can reach out to all of them and let them know about IFG!!!

My young friend, besides the above bravehearts, there are many out there, who are with us, but they mantain a very discreet profile. Let me give you an example, for every anti out there there are at least two pro guns, and mind you the ratio is consistent within Bureacrats, politicians and the powers that be. The only difference is, that these powerful people already have the licenses and also weapons of their choice. Now, if a legislation is being contemplated, which effectively bans all legal firearms in this country, then who do you think are the people who would be most affected? The powerful guys themselves! So in the corridors of power, where deals and sometimes legislations are brought about, a nod and a wink from these chaps count a lot.
Now you may say, then why are we jumping up and down and crying hoarse. Because somewhere, some Pro-gun section also needs support from the aam junta. Our petitions Do make a difference!
Secondly, those in power are NOT stupid. These guys are trying to strike a balance. Balance between what ? If tomorrow, a legislation comes about, that all private ownership of firearms is banned. Then just like the 'prohibition' days, a huge market for illegal arms will mushroom. They know very well, that at the present levels also, the Govt. is finding it extremely hard to control the illegal arms trade. Imagine what the consequences of a total ban will do, to the already strained security of this country?

plus im positive there are many politicians who are proguns [atleast from UP,BIHAR,JHARKHAND ] but they just cant step forwrd for the cause ...because netaji loves his "kursi"

well i think in our cause RSS [disregarding their being a religious outfit] will offer a little help as they conduct firearm handling and deployment courses [please dont get fascinated by the terms as the weapons used are barely lethal at 200+ yards]. we have to get political acknowledgment to get our job done.

IFG is basically a neutral forum, and IFGans belong to a wide spectrum of society but with a common cause. I personally feel that affiliation with any political party may result in un-necessary complications and may worsen the situation. For example each political party has its own ideology and image and there are other political parties that are strongly against some or most of these fundamentals. By geting affilation with any political party, the generall masses may un-necessary tag IFGans with the ideology and fundamental principles of that political party although the IFGans may or may not agree to them (fundamental principles of political parties). So, this will work both ways, positive as well as negative. I am worried about the negative publicity which is generally given to these factions. And why only RSS, there are so many other organisations and regional political parties which will fundamentally agree to the cause of RKBA, but the larger question is can we afford to openly go with those factions/organisations/political parties. These are my personal thoughts, you may or may not agree, and ofcouse, I will love to hear your opinions.

Keeping religious ideology of RSS aside, how much representation does it have in the parliament to make substantial noise for RKBA? For that matter Samajwadi Party seems better, just my opinion, I might be wrong.
As a matter of fact, I do strongly feel IFG needs some political party backing to lend voice to RKBA at a national level, to create a debate in parliament/media. RKBA has to be in news.
Any political party or a politician will support a cause only if he can see a benefit(votes etc.). How many votes can IFG provide?
If IFG can get support from any credible political party, nothing like it.

but in my opinion IF EVERYONE WANTS PROGRESS OF THE NATION THERE IS NO NEED FOR DIFFERENT PARTIES ONLY ONE WILL DO. but the case is not the same with our country where the population is remembered once in 5 years.

as far as my knowledge goes without google the process to ammend any law is bringing it into the parliament and discuss it
and when the majority finds it appropriate they pass the ammendment. So we actually need ateast one MP to raise RKBA issue... so we better prepare as you said it right if anyone raises this question, we will be labelled as affiliated with that party.

well any suggestions how can we actively attract attention of the masses besides discussions

why only bureaucrat and politicians ??? These guys travel in LEXUS and MERC's , not in bus or locals... what will they know about self defense in 26/11 kinda situation ??? were there any politicians present that time ? what is no of MLA's or MP's shot by gangsters... and who are these "powerful" people ? politicians or industrialist with political support ! EOD politicians are there everywhere...

and why would these bl***y "powerful" people support RKBA ? infact it is their responsibility to think about all these things... however they dont have the brains to do so... coz they are simply not literate ... and even if 1 of them is , all he/she cares is to increase their bank balance... question is why do they need more arms when they already are wastin the govt money on personal security (commandos/Z+ etc)
These politicians are the root to india's corruption , employment issues , external affairs issues , non-streamline procedures ... every god damn issue is due to them ...
However , i know these guys are not stupid ... they are "chalak"

For RKBA , we need to just educate the masses about self defense and use of guns,its advantages,benefits,precautions ,etc... to file a petition will not help ...coz due the rigid and weak courtroom procedures it shall take decades for the aam admi to know whats RKBA through the courtroom publicity...

i have taken a step further but in vain , until we ALL take a step further

Dobhal87, this is very difficult question, the answer may vary, but spreading the cause where possible thru print/electronic media and ofcouse inviting people to join IFG may some of the possible answers, but these are not the only solutions to the problem.
