They recommend, every 10,000 shots the seal should be replaced or every time you tune the gun.

Note: one must know that, good seal not only gives the optimal usage of power but also, due to good cushioning the piston lands smoothly at the end by which you will get
1. solid thwack
2. Accuracy due to consistency
3. Less vibration.
4. "0" smoke
5. Less sound.
and many others....

good work Tirths....appreciate the hands on innovation amidst all the restrictions.

...for a moment I'd though from the subject line, you were planning to stuff gun powder down the IHP tube :)

An angular transfer port is still parallel to the bore and the walls of the compression chamber. The angular refers to the fact that the port is offset - i.e. not directly behind the pellet skirt.

Pkj you are absolutely right.
Angular refers to the shape of the port itself - tapered to form a Venturi, versus being perfectly cylindrical.
The port could be offset , or not :)

Tirtha,

This is an absolutely brilliant effort. Congrats.

Have you set out with an target fps figure in mind ?

I am sure you are aware that the max possible fps figure for the IHP 35 is hampered more by the lower swept volume than poor manufacturing. A legacy of the Diana 35 which inspired the creation of the IHP 35, unfortunately.

As regards the quality of the seal, the same can be molded in Teflon but it will push up price of the air rifle, so its molded in what ever material it is to keep costs down. Please do not repeatedly criticize docs efforts on the synthetic seal. It is the single most important breakthrough in Indian springer design, deserving a round of applause. You have no idea of what he has gone through, to get the leather seal replaced, something, none of us, including you, would want to go through......

Continue with the good work.....

....the IHP synthetic seal is not bad at all...my tuned 35 .177 with JM spring, custom top hat and guide after 750 odd shots is still doing 800+fps...with stock components the gun was doing only 737max....I had replaced the miserable leather seal of Gunmark with IHPs' synthetic one and it is working well...

So it is working with Diana Seal and Adapter. Thanks for the feedback Jeetesh. You still can remove the retaining washer. May be clean the tap of piston and then try. The Adapter is made to go fully and tightly.
See the seal is self lubed therefore friction less one. The retaining washer is not. If you remove the washer, you can eliminate unnecessary friction and also gain some extra volume :)

Hi Tirths,

Here I am once again!! :) You have already hooked me into this hobby.

Now please also tell me how to change the seal for a better one and how much will it cost?

You have few things to do.
1. You got to know the way to dismantle your IHP. This link will help you.
http://www.indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=4794

2. Then go to page 1 of current thread or http://www.indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=7480 procedures are mentioned in picture.

3. Buy a new seal from http://www.airrifleheadquarters.com/cat ... /43075.htm or from me ( I have only one left with me)

Hope this will help you for time being :)

Hi

can you point to a link where i can get the details for the the same. I have IHP 25 too which i am trying to bring to life as i have bad big mouse menace, from which even cats are scared :roll:

Also by any chance can provide main detail like it length and wire diameter.

I sent some detail to one of the site and they are suggesting me this spring.

http://www.airrifleheadquarters.com/cat ... 528496.htm

Thanks in advance

Well that spring will not good for your 25. spring dia .110" which I surely like for 25. Reason is simple. You can shoot more and more without getting tired and secondly, less recoil. 25 as I understand for target practice therefore low power is recommended,. Good seal will make it even more smoother.

If I get some time, I will get you the measurement.

I did some googling, :D
How is this spring
No.2: 19mm x 245mm, internal diameter is 13mm
or
No.3: 20mm x 230mm, internal diameter is 14mm
http://www.gamo.co.uk/ox_mainsprings_an ... erator.htm

This is base of what i gathered from this forum that IHP 25 spring dimensions are
Dia=19mm(.74")
Wire Thickness= 3mm(.1181")
Internal Dia = 13mm(.503")
and Spring Guide Dia =12.5mm
Length=230mm(9")
Coil=30

This is OX spring, which i believe there is another Bro who was trying to get for his 25 also. But not sure if he got it.

Thanks i advance

Ali
