i live in cape town south africa. my two friends and i are flying into India next week, real excitement for me! it will be my very first visit there...looking forward to seeing the origins of my indian heritage!

i do lots of shooting here, and i hunt frequently.
i own a 9mm handgun for defense, a .22lr rimfire for lots of plinking and taking small to medium game over short distances, and a BSA Mercury .177 springer, and my little powerhouse, the crosman 1377c air pistol....which shoots 10.49gr Gamo TS-10 pellets, from a 10.25" barrel, at 747fps....amazing power....cannot wait to drop a longer barrel in!

thanks for the great and hospitable welcome guys!

Welcome airvolver to the forum. Was just going through your Crosman post. Great work you've done there.

Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

will be a pleasure fantumfan, but i am unsure of our travel plans inside india....

thanks shooter...i hunt many times a year here in south africa and have hunted for over ten years now. south africa is a wonderful venue for hunting many different game species. i will post photos of a few hunts in the hunting section.

cheers

here are two hunting photos....

Image
my first male bushbuck ram shot with a .223rem from 113mts...single soft point 55gr bullet behind the left ear brought it down. these antelope are very infamous for charging hunters when they are threatened or injured. this photo was taken 8 years ago.

Image
nyala ram, an old bull, shot with a 30-06 180rem soft point in the heart from 173mts....the right horn was broken off midway...a wonderful stalk over 2 hours and the bull presented a good broadside shot. i am the guy on the far right.

sorry for pics, photos taken with mobile phones at that time.
cheers
