Developed by Armament Research & Development Establishment (ARDE), Pune of DRDO.
I had the opportunity to view the MSMC at Indesec –Expo 2009 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. MSMC is in trail stage now, completed 2 rounds and awaiting thefinal trial then approval. The gentleman at the DRDO stall told me that the same will be inducted into the Indian Armed forces by 2010. Now coming to the salient Features of MSMC as described by ARDE:
• A Unique calibre weapon system for CQB (Close Quarter Battle) operations.
• Low recoil ensures stabilized weapon during rapid firing.
• Semi Bull-pup design: Magazine feeding through Pistol Grip; enables single hand firing.
• Retractable butt for compact and balance weapon, suitable for concealed area operations.
• Three point sling for comfortable weapon carrying and manoeuvrability in different firing postures.
• Integral pistol grip & hand guard unit improves aesthetics, logistics and maintenance.
• Ambidextrous features in cocking handle, butt locking lever and fire selector enables left and right hand firing.
• Optimal Bullet design for enhanced wounding power and accuracy.
• Picatinny rail for mount indigenous / international contemporary small arms sights.

Jeff Cooper advocated four basic rules of gun safety:
1) All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2) Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
4) Identify your target, and what is behind it.

Hi Eljefe...more of a rip off from the H&K MP7....
Also note that it mostly a slightly scaled down INSAS affair.... elements moved here and there and dressed up to look different.
Remains to be seen if it has any valid use.
