Re: Quotes on Firearms Rights
A good quote for those people who have been denied a firearm license:
"I don't like the idea that the police department seems bent on keeping a pool of unarmed victims available for the predations of the criminal class."
-- David Mohler, 1989, on being denied a carry permit in NYC
May be they can make a sticker out of it and stick it on their vehicles.
Good one goodboy_mentor!

Re: Quotes on Firearms Rights
Some famous GUN Quotes,
The great body of our citizens shoot less as times goes on. We should encourage rifle practice among schoolboys, and indeed among all classes, as well as in the military services by every means in our power. Thus, and not otherwise, may we be able to assist in preserving peace in the world... The first step – in the direction of preparation to avert war if possible, and to be fit for war if it should come – is to teach men to shoot!"
— Theodore Roosevelt
Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the act of depriving a whole nation of arms as the blackest."
- Mahatma Gandhi
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.”
- Thomas Jefferson
"If someone has a gun and is trying to kill you, it would be reasonable to shoot back with your own gun."
— Dalai Lama XIV

Re: Quotes on Firearms Rights
You know, I see this one used a lot. While it worked for the Mahatma at the time, it has absolutely no relevance today. British rule ended in 1947, so why are we are still blaming them for our present gun control situation?Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the act of depriving a whole nation of arms as the blackest."
- Mahatma Gandhi
When India gained independence, it was free to strike down old laws and create new laws. Our elected representatives have chosen not to strike down the old gun control laws. In fact they have made those old laws more stringent.
Today, it is the Indian voter who is to blame for choosing not to remove those people from power, not the British.
The "blackest misdeed" is that the Indian Government has withheld the right of self defense from its own citizens.
“Never give in, never give in, never; never; never; never – in nothing, great or small, large or petty – never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense” — Winston Churchill, Oct 29, 1941
