Dummy Rifle

Post by abhishek1977 » Mon Oct 05, 2009 3:35 pm

Is there any place where I can get dummy models of rifles for Movie shooting & Exhibition purposes. Is there any legal procedure to be followed for the same? I want INSAS/ AK model for the purpose.

Hi Abhishek,

Welcome to IFG- You could make a better start by posting on a more appropriate section.

Crude dummy rifles for drill purposes used to be made by National Musketry Stores, Delhi. They are crude wooden things with minor metal fittings and have a similar weight and balance of the real gun. They are, as I mentioned very crude and will not even remotely pass off as its real counter part, looks wise. ...also the last I checked they had only 303 and SLR dummies....oh by the way, they are a specific military-police stores supplier so don't blame me if you get no co-operation from them.

If its replicas or models you are talking of, you will find none of the INSAS, while AK types that look remarkably real and fairly inexpensive, can be found in Air-Soft format.

Post in the appropriate section and Do introduce yourself.
