Re: IOF .32 revolver
What I have seen is that in Smith & Wesson revolvers there is no gap between the cylinder and the barrel.Even in 50-60 years old revolvers of Smith and Wesson this gap is not there. Why can't this be done in IOF revolvers ? This would greatly enhance the quality of the revolver.

Re: IOF .32 revolver
Vineet,
A better comparison would be between the IOF and a .32 Webley.
If there is no gap between the cylinder and the barrel, the revolver will jam.Close tolerances are not good in certain firearms. You sacrifice some accuracy for greater reliability.

Collection of .32 IOF Revolver
Hi guys,
I am getting my IOF revolver tommorrow from FGK Kanpur. Request advise me what I should look for while taking the delivery. I have spoken to the sales incharge, he says he has selected a good piece for me (being a Air Force Officer). I don't know what difference will it make. The sugeestions of the members will be valuable as I have no experience in .32 revolver. Thanx.

The incharge (Mr Gogia) has already selected one for me. I wanted advice on what to look for the one allotted to me, as I had read some posts where the people did not check the barrel at delivery and had to go back to get it repaired.

Re: IOF .32 revolver
Hi fellow members, could u please comment on safety while going to recieve a revolver.People around me and even those living in U.P. suggest moving out of the place immediately after recieving your piece as there are chances of being robbed by organised gangs in need of arms.PLEASE COMMENTand share your EXPERIENCE.

Procedure and hints for collection of IOF Revolver
I had got my license in Jun 2009 and had booked my revolver with Fild GunFactory in August 2009. I was given the delivery date of 10 Sep 09 but you have a option to collect the revolver on the date given or any time after that. I had sent the documents for a Transit License to a broker (Mr Anil Aggarwal) a few days before so that I dont waste time when I reach Kanpur. The guy had got the work done in the courts but one has to go personally to the couts to recieve the TL. Mr Aggarwal accompnies you to the courts and it takes only five minutes in the court to get the license. The broker charged me Rs 600/- inluding the court fees etc. The broker accompnies you till you depart from Kanpur. If someone bargains hard the guy will agree fro Rs 500/-.
Thereafter, we went to the FGK. Only single person is permitted inside. No cell phones or luggage is permitted. The staff is really helpful. Some guys had come from Firozpur and wanted to catch a train in evening. The staff helped them and made sure they are free well in time. The staff does not accept any money from the customers. Normally it takes about one hour to get the revolver. The FGK is giving a few accessories with the revolver, like, a holster, a soft lined lockable box, lineyard and cleaning kit. Finally you you come out HAPPY.
The broker gives you the option to buy ammo and holster etc. He takes you to a shop, for me it was Sai Gun House which is about 2.5 kms from FGK. The ammo was Indian Rs 55/-, Imported Rs 180 to Rs 220/-. Holsters were available from Rs 500/- for one with a belt to Rs 650/- for under arm. I felt the holsters to be expensive considering Kanpur to be centre for leather goods and did not like the owner. I did some more exploration and found Shri Durga Armoury which is 2 kms from FGK. The ammo was of same rate. The holster with belt and under arm were for Rs 300/- each and the owner was a good guy. This guy also helps in obtaining a TL. I bought a few holsters and went home armed.
Phone numbers to help the member. Mr Anil Aggarwal 9335184484. Shri Durga Armoury 9935124682. FGK (Sales Office) 05122295104.

Re: IOF .32 revolver
Hi,
Congratz to all who have got there stuff or going to get it. As you all know there are two factories SAF and FGK. So what I want to say is go for FGK and not for SAF as the revolver's of FGK are test before delivery they are tested (by firing) on the FGK range but the stuff from SAF are not at all tested. So when you getting the revolver form the FGK there no need for any kind of examination. I also got my revolver from FGK.
Regards,
Denzil
