Hello!

Post by oberoid » Sat Aug 22, 2009 4:52 pm

Greetings to the group!

After being bitten by the "Gun Bug" and after a lot of reading i decided to become a member of this group. Though I do not own one at present, I plan to buy a National-35 from T Jacob and Co, Kerala. Did some comparisons with the dealer in Chennai and was shocked to find a difference of about 1K in the price (Chennai being more expensive). The difference goes a notch up when the attitude of the dealers are taken into consideration. My experience with Mr. Jose was a pleasant one. I'd rate dealing with him at a solid 8 out of 10 compared to the dealer from Chennai, who was anything but helpful. As a newbie this matters!

Anyhow, good to join the group! Keep up the good work!
BTW, i am also on the lookout for a hard case for a single rifle. Can anyone lead the way?

Welcome to IFG. Look forward to your regular participation.

For the rifle case, check the sales section. There are a few on sale I believe.

We are glad you have joined us, Oberoid. We all hope that your "gun bug" experience will be satisfactory, but never satisfied!

I have to say, talk is cheap! Its easy to commit, but difficult to deliver. 2 months on, and no gun in sight. Multiple visits and discussions on a tentative arrival date have yielded no gun. Have set my sights on other geographies of India now. Kerala turned out to be a BIG disappointment.
The hunt is on...
