I have heard from several sources that an "improved" version of IOF 30.06 will be launched soon. It will have a 5 shot magazine and will be Rs.12000/- more expensive.
What I want to know is ........
1. Is it true that an improved version 30.06 is on its way ?
2. If so , what are these improvements/modifications ?
3. Is it better to wait for the launch of improved version or one should just go for the present version ?
One Amritsar dealer told me today that the new version will just have a 5 shot magazine ( no other modifications) and that this particular magazine will be available to the customer for Rs.1000/- from the IOF once it is launched . ( Hard to believe) .
What do you think gentlemen ?
best,
Rp.

It's a copy of the Sauer 202 and that comes with a 3 shot mag....so it is unlikely that IOF is going to make any changes...this one is as new as it can get...it's a 09 model..

Asif,
you were just the last one to mention an alu/bolt connection; an assertion that came up with the .315 as well. There are several reasons why this would never happen. 1. You can't weld alu and steel. 2. You would introduce a weakness and real possibility of breaking off the bolt handle. 3. Absolutely nothing would be gained.
To Sanjay's post, just like it's parent's, it's a detachable, single-stack, magazine. To keep it flush with the stock, it's a 3-shot. For those who think they need greater mag capacity, Sauer has an optional 5-shot. Can't see why IOF wouldn't do the same with their "riplica".
Cheers.
