Hey Dev,
Enjoyed the write up. Thank you.
... Now I can claim I was actually there with you guys...
Congratulations olly- have fun decimating the bricks in your area.
It also answers a couple of questions- Most important of which is, the IOF 30-06 actually fires reasonably well and without barrel heat treatment every few shots...
Now I know its not money entirely squandered on a boat anchor.
regards,
cc

I missed all the fun, but will jump onto your shoulders next time you 'Uncles' decide to go anywhere. Dad has more impressive videos on his phone which I'll try to upload here. Nishant Uncle is very naughty. I saw in the video what he did when you missed the brick.
Your writing improves my English greatly !
You are very generous gadget man , but if you read my angrezi for too long I am afraid your percentile is really going to drop. Sure jump on Nishant's shoulders next time...it will teach him a lesson.

As I have written in the post the rifle was stock with Bobby sorting it out from a batch.
As far as the rest of the fun goes, we stopped for tea at a pseudo place called 'the haveli'
now weren't sure how safe it would be to leave the rifle in the car.
So we decided to pretend that we were landowning farmers out for a cuppa. And in fact Nishant suggested that we carry the rifle along. And so we strode in trying to look as if this is what we did everyday. And no one batted an eyebrow. So folks there is still hope in gun totting Haryana and Punjab. We had our tea etc and swaggered back to the scorpio, belching loudly our body odour would have anyway beaten any peasant farmer.

Great post dev,
"we checked out the IOF .22 that he had worked on, heck I almost ran away with it."
"My informed attempt at taking the magazine out earned me a five star fool rating from Bobby. What else do you call someone who turns the pistol upside down, points the barrel at his own stomach and then fiddles with the magazine? A considerate fool at the most."
and absolutely hilarious!

Tragic wood-work.
Some metal re-finishing is in order.
Otherwise seems reasonable.

I think an aluminum bolt was a cop out, the original sauer 200 looks prettier with the blued bolt and trigger, maybe that would be the next step.
Okay apologies for not posting the fine shooting technique of our third member Shri Nishant Mangla ...enjaay.

I would say the IOF 30 06 rifle quality is much better than the IOF .315 and .22 rifles.....

Re: Shooting the IOF 30 06
It was a nice experience Iam more fond of rifles and shotguns than handguns. But this gun is better for sport in selfdefence I personaly think .315 is better some friend who knows a ballistic expert told him that .315 is among the most lethal if used from 50 to 100 yard range than other rifles. I may be not an expert but he has quoted this from an expert and who has wide experience from labourity tests of various arms. This was also proved in encounter of chitrkoot.
