Sudesh: Those sinners would probably not have wanted to rape a dead girl, or get shot themselves, and most likely would have looked for another, unarmed, victim. Many rapists routinely kill their victims afterward anyhow, not wanting an accuser. The list of "what if'" is a long one. Cheers.

Are u into active politics? The names you mentioned are - most of the times - beyond the reach of common men. But I'm still confused n one thing, how come Dhoni is granted the permission of keeping a 9mm? :?

Rottlord, I am not into active politics, but if we want to get cause of RKBA furthered, it can be done with help of people who can take decisions/influence decisions related to it, and not by "just" trading opinions on this forum.
I think, people supporting RKBA and living near each other form groups, meet during weekends, plan next actionable plan. Same can be done for people living in/near Delhi, as they have advantage of being near to people in power, who can take some meaningful decisions(provided they can be convinced & have desire). I am just guessing,
Digvijay Singh is President of NRAI and Navin Jindal is also member of its governing body, Rahul Gandhi is also said to be gun enthusiast. Unless we meet and convince people who matter, hardly anything can be achieved by "discussing" things over and over again, which have been repeatedly discussed and agreed on this forum.

This people are certainly not out of reach of common man, where there is a will, there is a way. Meeting these people as individuals is definitely not going to help much, meeting them as an organization will definitely have some impact on their minds.

Then we need to make a petition and get it signed by all in this forum; wonder how many would give in to the idea. If you can prepare the said petition, I shall be the first one to sign.

Or just guide me on the legal parts, I shall do it up.

As I have already said "Meeting these people as individuals is definitely not going to help much, meeting them as an organization will definitely have some impact on their minds." Petition by organization is much better than petition by few individuals. Following steps are important:

1) Having legal organization (GFI)

2)Getting relevant data till date from Crime Records Bureau using RTI as to:

a) How much percentage of violent crimes including murder/dacoity/kidnapping/rape/terrorism etc have been committed till date using "unlicensed" firearms and weapons/instruments not requiring a license.
b) How much percentage of violent crimes including murder/dacoity/kidnapping/rape/terrorism have been committed till date using "Licensed" firearms. (If someone can explain steps needed to get this information from Crime Records Bureau using RTI, I am willing to get it this information.)

3) Once step 1 & 2 are done, I will definitely draft a petition to be submitted.

Any suggestions/contributions are welcome.

Such incidents take place because our legal system is lenient with rapists. They are punished with brief prison sentences. Unfortunately, imprisonment as a punishment for rape create only a Band-Aid solution for sexual assault. What these heinous criminals committed are inexcusable.
There should be some kind of punishment like Sniper said
"Sentences like public hanging and public executions for such kind of hideous crimes should be passed - this will instill fear in the minds of such criminals and will deter them from even thinking of such things."
i just said gun is not the right solution. Negligence of our police force & system is the cause for such incidents.

Rottlord,
What if those sinners had a handgun ?
Gun is not the right solution. :!:
Our police department should awake!!!!!!!!!

sudesh......
How does police know when and where a crime is being commited in real time ?? afterall they are also humans.... I would say arming a person is the only solution.

I have read many cases where the bad guys have left just because the victim either brandished his/her weapon or pointed a gun at them. There is no need to fire a round in half of the cases.. so there you go.

Bhargav, I donot disagree about arming the people.
But arming children under18 , I dont think itz a good idea.
There are dozens of child molestation cases in India. Now shall a 10 or 12 year old child should be armed?
What is your opinion Bhargav tell me?
I am not blaming the police alone, please read below.

if she has a knife and know how to use it, those guys may end up pretty dead. In India in many families girls brought up that way as they should be shy. For example it is the whole different story in Malaysia, where girls and womans carry karambits, often with poison on the blade. After all it is family and society not a government, who decide what kind of skills are suitable for Indian woman and what not. What if I will open knife fighting school for girls. just think how such school will be overlooked in community.

Bhargav, I think a fear should be created in those phedophilic people's heart by giving some brutal punishiments.
Sorry Mods & people, but I must say those phedophilic sinners should be Skinned Alive.

Personally I am against drastic punishments in a corrupt country like India. It is a common knowledge that innocent can get convicted and actual crime com-miters can get released with full honors. What is needed is an efficient/fully independent judicial system, which can deliver timely justice. Look at famous riot cases where people have seen "Honorable" M.P.s/M.L.A.s/ministers/would be ministers indulging in direct/indirect acts of rioting etc. and roaming free from law and occupying "positions". What can we expect for a common man with this kind of setup?
