Re: blank cartridges
what ever for? unless for a theatrical production, where you are safer with a prop gun. Not thinking of keeping a few blanks and then the real stuff for sd are we?

Not likely.raman909 wrote:but is it available or not
I'm not aware of KF manufacturing .32 blanks, either short, long or ACP.
As for imported stuff, whatever measly import quota any party is allowed by the government, its more likely they are not going to waste it on blanks.

Perhaps these are simply live 32 shots with bullet and charge removed. The primer alone approximates the sound signature of toy cap guns.

Are the blanl revolver rounds different from pistol rounds??? i mean If the charge is removed then how do the blank rounds cycle the slide of the pistol.cottage cheese wrote:sudesh wrote:In Mumbai, blank rounds of .32 are available.

Re: blank cartridges
An automatic has to be modified in order to cycle while firing blanks. I had a discussion once with a hollywood prop manager and he said the barrels have a plug in them.

Re: blank cartridges
Semi-automatic pistols need to have the barrel modified by installation of a hollow plug if self-loading operation is required, i.e. bore diameter at the muzzle is sharply reduced, and the pistol/barrel will blow up if a regular cartridge is fired. The diameter of the hole in the muzzle plug has to be carefully established by trial and error, for the blank being used, and mechanism of the respective pistol. So, don't try this at home.
For the M1 Garand rifle there used to be a blank cartridge adapter that attached to the muzzle. The cardboard wad of the blank cartridges would clog the adapter orifice after a few rounds, and the next shot would blow off the adapter and ruin the barrel. Needless to say, it was withdrawn, and its use prohibited, after a short time in service.
Also, factory blank cartridges are loaded with an extremely fast burning powder, much faster than even the fastest pistol, or .22 RF, powders. Smokeless blanks are not something to brew up in your kitchen.
If you need home brewed blanks, use blackpowder. Cheers.
