Thanks for your valuable suggestions. It is easy to make an advise to any one and it costs nothing. so people just do that. If some one can give a reply it is fine and if not, I have no regrets. But I dont need a page long free stuff - good for nothing

Thanks
First decide whether you need a 'reply' or a 'guarantee' ? Most replys' in this thread are practical experiences of members and not posted just for the heck of it. Additionally, members have gone through many web sites, legal handbooks etc before commenting on the subject. Additionally, members have invested considerable time in posting their actual experiences, taking snaps, answering subsequent queries etc. Consequently, many have benefited from these posts. If these efforts seem 'good for nothing to you', stick to your 'official business' and forget about airguns.

Your asking of the original idiotic question is an indication of you not having gone through the posts at all.

Anyway,to answer your question, Yes, people with sudhakardm id on IFG ( only) can courier airgun from Germany to India provided their FIL is AC, C & CE. Refer to page 923 of I & E Procedures 2008 Edition.
Mr...

I know that, I have not gone thru the entire posts. But as I mentioned earlier, I don't need any more free stuff which is "good for nothing" . I think this very clear and better stick to your own business.

Thx

Jignesh,
The bad news as of now is that Pyramid air is NO LONGER SHIPPING TO INDIA this is only a temporary phase until the sort out some issues with the courier - UPS and perhaps will shift to a new one - however there is NO time period as to when this will be sorted out.

Pyramidair payment was done VIa PayPal.
1. open a paypal account.
2. book your order on pyramidair. make a not of the order no. - email [email protected] and inform them that you will be paying via Pay pal. - get the paypal payment code from them
3. login to paypal - and transfer money to the pyramidair paypal account - ***********
3. Processing of the order should begin the next day.

Do Not opt for the same day shipping and the more expensive shipping method as customs clearance will anyway slow up the process.
Do let me know if you need more info.

What are the chances of getting the Beretta 92FS lookalike at my doorsteps? It looks like the real thing, but is of .177 calibre and uses co2.

CHances are almost 100% but there is a time factor involved and also lots of waiting and patience.
SInce it is a look alike they might ask for a police NOC or for someone from the arms dept to verify that it is a .177 etc etc.- depends on how the customs interprets it and how you handle it.

help in deciding on a air rifle and bringing it to india via

Post by GOCOOL2000 » Thu Aug 27, 2009 5:35 pm

hi
i am a newbie here.. i am currently studying in aberdeen, u.k. i need help in deciding which air rifle to buy.. i saw bsa tactical xl and Weihrauch hw 97 which is a underlever and wood stock with scope. it retails abt 400 quid. bsa has a weatherproof stock and looks small. hw97 is nice but a bit heavy. i need some help in deiciding on a good air rifle to get it when i come to india in nov. i am jus goin to use it for target shooting. i am not a member in any rifle club.. am based in chennai. i have a few doubts:

1. can i bring .22 air rifle legally?

2. is scope allowed in to india?

3. can i dismantle it and put it in my hard case suitcase with my clothes, etc or what shld i do??

4. how much duty will i be paying?

5. incase they confiscate whats the solution?

kindly help me out with these guy...

Hi,
without a club membership ur in big trouble.from gocool you will become NOCOOL
u cant bring a.22 legally. In chennai its sent to forensics dept which will classify it a s a firearm and send a report on based ft.lbs muzzle energy, which will require you to have a firearm licence.
Scope also prblm with customs,as it is a restricted item-grease their palms.
Dont dismantle,bring in fully assembled.
if .22 ur not going to get it back in all probability.Customs always on the lookout for free crumbs.
if .177 and club membership you will walk thru free.
regards

do not forget that the gents on white are within rights to say that ' they are not arms experts thus have to withhold it until police clear it' even its clear its air gun of .177 cal.

1) As far as I know you can get a .22 cal air gun with your personal baggage even if you donot have a membership in any shooting club.
2) I donot know if you can get a scope with your rifle. I went through othe posts in this forum and i couldnt get a convincing answer
3) You better talk to the airline company in which you will be travelling
4)I think its 35% of the total cost of the rifle.
5) I dont know. May be someone who has already got a gun with their personal baggage can answer this.

you can bring a .22 with you, bring all the receipts with rifle serial number shown etc. duty is i believe is 35%.

scope can be brought in baggage but not fixed to rifle. keep them separate.

it appears that different airport tend to work little differently, so it also depends on where you coming in, also what mood are the gents in white are in. :D

the worst case is: pay duty. may have to wait for the police guy to give it a clear may take/can take few days. otherwise should not be much of a hassle.

all the best
